We’ve been meaning to get here for ages and finally managed lunch. All I can say is: great food (the pie pastry was good enough on its own, yet filled with deliciousness, and I had no idea you could curry pumpkin and lentils and make something that I as a meat lover would swap.
Great staff, great service, great food.
We stayed on Saturday night - the room was lovely with one of the comfiest beds I have ever slept in - and it was huge! Dinner was delicious - so good we had To go for three courses - only problem was deciding what to have from the fantastic menu! And to top it off the staff were all lovely, we were made to feel very welcome and were very well looked after - we will certainly be returning!
We loved our stay here! The location is great - right across from a beautiful field with a walking path. The rooms are lovely with comfortable beds. The star is the restaurant though. The service was incredible - Peter took every effort to make sure everything was perfect. The space is warm and inviting with a wood burning stove and great decorations. The food was exceptional. We went with the beef Wellington but wanted to order everything on the menu. We highly recommend staying here. Can’t wait to come back.
Visited today for lunch with my partner, absolutely delicious food, fantastic service and swift. Above all else it's dog friendly so would get 5 stars no matter what! Thank you very much for accommodating us at short notice, we will definitely be back and I will be recommending to friends, family and clients! Thank you again, John, Tom and Molly
Utterly superb food, well thought out, well balanced flavours and served hot and quickly! In addition though, the staff are wonderfully attentive and there's a great vibe dining here. Excellent value too! Thoroughly recommend!
They fitted us in last minute due to change of plans for my husband’s birthday. The food and service was amazing - we particularly enjoyed the beef ravioli on the beef fillet main dish... delicious!!! We will certainly be returning!
The best Sunday lunch I have ever had. Well worth the drive from Bournemouth. Great value for money as well the chef and staff were superb. Absolutely fab
The Churchill Arms was a lovely dog friendly pub where we used to eat. I have just been told that it is no longer dog friendly what a pity. We will have to use the other dog friendly pubs in the Cotswolds there are many. This amazes me as the owner Nick brings his dog Rocco to the pub.
Stunning setting, great food and super service from a team working really hard but still making people feel special which is not easy. Well done and thank you .
Spent a weekend in an AirBnB across the way from this pub a few weeks ago. What an absolute gem. Delicious food, really lovely locals and really fun and friendly staff (who love dogs). The photos do not do this place justice - really lovely local, makes me want to live in Paxford!
I visited The Churchill Arms 23rd June 2017 for one night with my partner Tony, very warm welcome and excellent service, the superior room we booked for our stay had everything we needed , lovely comfy bed too. The evening meal was amazing and was well presented. We would definitely visit again. And my partner said that his full English breakfast was the best he had ever eaten, there homemade bread is scrumptious too, a real winner in our eyes 😀
Dinner for 9, with 5 of them children, and EVERY plate was completely empty by the end.
Great food, great drink, really friendly service and great atmosphere.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Churchill.
Back home after a fabulous few days away with my husband, Clive. If we could give more than 5 stars we would! On arrival was greeted by Nick and his fantastic staff, lovely comfortable room (slept the best I've done in a long time, truly relaxing!), wonderful picturesque central location to explore the area (if you can take time to visit The Cotswold Distillery) and then back to The Churchill Arms to relax and chat to the friendly locals before sitting down to fabulous food cooked by Nick himself, a real treat. O, and not forgetting the scrumptious breakfast - enough to set you up for the day! Looking forward already to our next stay in October - see you then guys - Clive and Adele
Amazing place - food is superb and staff couldn’t be nicer 👍🏼😊
Amazing food and atmosphere, really lovely pub. It was absolutely packed on Easter Saturday and the food was exceptional, loved the pork t-bone
Amazing family lunch here today. Staff so attentive and food and service amazing.
Highly recommend this little gem.
After being recommended by friends we paid a visit to The Churchill Arms for ourselves. We were not disappointed. After a warm welcome we were taken to our seats. All of the staff that we encountered were brilliant, knowledgeable with both the menu and the wines. Starters at our table were the smoked haddock soufflé which was exceptional and steak tartare which was the best I'd had. Chris, the chef came and chatted to us several times throughout the evening which to us showed his passion to get things right. Mains arrived. Beef Wellington was amazing, octopus superb and my calves liver was to die for. We decided to share desserts as we were keen to try but wouldn't be able to manage one each. White chocolate mousse with cherries and honeycomb was so light and delicious. All in all it was a truly wonderful experience. Many thanks to all at The Churchill.
Food is fantastic and I really mean brilliant, Nick is obviously a great chef.
The big let down is the lack of fridges in the place, warm drinks on a hot day is not good, the young, lifeless, gormless staff also let the place down.
Parking is none existent but plenty places to squeeze in around Paxford.
This is by far the best food out of the over 60 places within a 25 mile radius we have eaten.
Someone out front with the passion to bring the standards from the kitchen out into the dining area and this place would be a 10 out of 10.
Fantastic welcome and service. Food was ok and in our opinion overpriced. However, we will always remember the warm welcome.
