Exercise during pregnancy has many benefits, not just to you, but to your unborn baby as well. There’s definitely some truth in the saying fitter mums have fitter babies,” so I’m so pleased you’re giving your unborn baby the BEST start in life.

There sometimes seems to be confusion around exercising in pregnancy. What’s “too much” and what’s “too hard?” Does it need to be just the gentle stuff, such as swimming and walking from now on? If you’re already used to exercising pre-pregnancy (gym, running, cycling) and wish to continue training – or perhaps are wishing to build a stronger, fitter body to support you through pregnancy, labour and ultimately motherhood – then you’ll love my FIT Movement’s Pregnancy Exerci...se Class in #Exeter . . . . . . . . . .

Do you still think that to lose weight you just need to restrict your calorie intake; and exercise like crazy?? Well, I’ve got some news. That’s so “old school.” . . As a woman, while this strategy may have worked in your 20s, you need to be a bit smarter about how you go about it now, especially if you’re trying to shift that bit around your middle. You see, it’s all got to do with your hormones. When you get older, your hormone levels begin to shift as you transition from p...erimenopause and then onto menopause. . . . Add into the mix that your stress (cortisol) levels are likely to be high if you have a busy family and work life, then throw in that odd glass of wine or sweet treat in the evening “just to unwind”, and you’ve got a potential recipe for disaster. Does this sound familiar? So what do you do? Head on over to the blog for some menopause strategies for smart women. My tips will start you making friends with your hormones and prioritising your health from here on in. . . . . . . .

PRAISE FOR THE FIT CORE + PELVIC FLOOR COURSE
Thanks to Ruth for letting me share her feedback on the course and the results she achieved with her posterior prolapse.
++++++++++++++
... I joined Wendy's course as I was experiencing a very bulging posterior prolapse.
I found the course really useful.
I have stopped doing pelvic floor "squeeze + release" exercises as I was doing them wrong and making my prolapse worse...Following the course, my prolapse is now not bulging at all - it has shrunk back significantly.
I enjoyed learning about the tiny adjustments I could make to help my condition, as well as meeting other women with the same condition.
The education materials were very useful and I will definitely use them to look back on. They were beyond anything I was expecting to receive.
Wendy was enthusiastic, passionate and made us feel like she had as much time as we needed in each session to get the most out of it. She always followed up with us each week between sessions to see how we were doing.
If you are considering joining the course, it was worth every penny.
++++++++++++++
Considering joining us next week? Contact me.
...but remember, you do have to put in the work and use the course - like Ruth - if you want results!

‘Fit Mamas Pregnancy class’ is a Lovely exercise class in a relaxed environment, Work at your level and meet other mums to be. I always had a good night sleep after these classes which is difficult in the third trimester! Thank you Wendy.

Wendy's sessions are great! I've been going since last September and can honestly say that I have never felt more healthy, or fitter. I have dabbled with keeping fit for a number of years and already had a degree of fitness but now I see such a difference; I feel better mentally and physically and have seen a big improvement on body shape and tone. Wendy is a fountain of knowledge, not only on fitness but also on everything you need to know on how to keep your body in tip top condition from the inside out. The sessions always have a fun element and can be as challenging as you like as you always work at your own pace with Wendy always on hand to get the best out of you! I have to say, I've often been intimidated in this type of environment but I don't feel so at all in Wendy's sessions, we're just a bunch of ladies, with our own goals, getting fit whilst having fun!

Training with Wendy from Day One has made a difference to my whole mindset and I started seeing results within a week. Wendy's knowledge and passion for women's fitness is up to the minute and her common sense and informed approach is a breath of fresh air in the minefield of conflicting advice and 'quick fixes' currently our there. Returning to fitness after a long lay off and broken elbow Wendy has helped me back to my previous fitness with care, tips and advice as well as constant encouragement and individually tailored modifications along the way. She continues her own personal development in tandem with delivering her Group and 1-to-1 training so benefitting clients by her eagerness to share both solid research and new thinking with tried and tested methods in order to achieve results.

User

Really enjoy the Mamas & Buggies class (despite rain and snow!). It's really good fun. Hard work, but oddly enjoyable! Wendy's encouragement and support are full of enthusiasm and really helpful.

It was a facebook advert that caught my attention to Wendy at WG Fitness. I have been a regular runner for a couple of years and really enjoyed exercise, but knew that I needed to do something else to 'mix things up a bit' and create fitness in the rest of my body and not just in my legs. Wendy's classes provided the perfect solution, as a runner herself she knew exactly what would fit the bill.

I do the Early Bird class, so by 7.30am have done a great all body work-out and can then get on with the rest of the day, with that ever so slightly smug feeling.

No two classes are ever the same, and Wendy is amazing at getting the best out of you without needing to be the Sargent Major bossy women type, which I have always found completely intimidating. She is encouraging and calm, but at the same time will set goals that improve your form and fitness.

Wendy is an inspiration who lives what she teaches, her lifestyle, recipe ideas, eating habits and her own exercise goals are certainly something to aspire to.

I started the FIT Mamas & Buggies class in October last year. It was 8 weeks after having my daughter and having not been able to exercise much during my pregnancy, I wasn’t sure where to start. Wendy was amazing at guiding me through what exercises I could do safely at each stage postnatally and gave really helpful nutrition advice. She’s helped me to achieve my goals, fit back into my pre-pregnancy clothes and regain my previous fitness levels. I’d definitely recommend Wendy’s classes to anyone.

I started going to Wendy's fitness classes at the beginning of 2017. I didn't know what to expect and didn't have high hopes as have tried many fitness groups, gyms etc and usually after the initial few weeks I have become bored/disillusioned and found every excuse not to go again.

It's now nearly the end of the year and I am still going , twice a week and I love it. Wendy gives everyone time, she pushes you to the best of your ability but in a encouraging and thoughtful way. No shouting. The exercises and drills we do are well thought out and everyone can work at their own pace. Each week is different and it is great being outside.

Wendy is incredibly knowledgeable and offers you support with diet, exercise and lifestyle outside the class if that is what you want but she never pushes her knowledge onto you.

Give it a go you won't regret it!

User

I first met Wendy when I decided to join her 21 day challenge in September last year. I was feeling tired and unfit and wanted to get back into exercise - it's the best move I ever made! The challenge kick started a far healthier eating plan and the twice weekly sessions quickly increased my fitness levels. My body shape has also changed for the better! I have continued with the fitness sessions which are always varied and far from boring. Wendy encourages you to always strive for your best and as the sessions are all women it is a fun and non judgmental environment. Come and join us!

From 14 weeks pregnant to 5 days before I gave birth, I went along to Wendy’s classes. I always looked forward to them and felt great afterwards. Wendy ensured they were well planned and varied. They were a fantastic way to keep fit during pregnancy and meet some lovely people.
