We pop in every now and again and would just like to say what a nice place the libertine is. The food is great and the staff are warm and friendly especially Alisa who we would just like to recognise as she always has a big smile and is great at her job

User

We happened to be in Bournemouth yesterday and popped in there for some food. I have to say the food was lovely, great portion size and excellent value for money. We both got a roast and it came with a free pudding (or starter if you'd prefer). The staff were very friendly too and the atmosphere was very relaxed. Will go there again if we find ourselves down that way.

User

We had our Christmas party here, it was fabulous! Great private room for all of us to be noisy in. Food was fantastic , large portions fed us well, hands up to the chef that night.

Waitress was attentive. Will def go back :-)

User

Walked in during peak dinner rush on Saturday. Don't know the area, just wanted some dinner, but very pleasantly surprised. Excellent service- friendly but not overbearing, and waiting staff were well informed. The chefs in the open kitchen took time to chat with me briefly about the pizza oven and their menu. Food was lush (we had fish&chips and sausage&mash) and just enjoyed the very clean and beautifully decorated restaurant area. Keep it up guys!

User

My local! They currently have very good offers, especially the 2 for 1 cocktails at £7:95 a pop, great value, and the food is pretty good too, friendly staff to boot :)

User

I'm a frequent customer to this venue, when in the U.K, to visit with my mother. Who is a little long in the tooth, but continues to enjoy very good food.

So we come here, always warmly welcomed by the staff. As surprised by the continued good quality of service and menu choices, as the perfect quirky joke at the table, to amuse, not only my mother and I, but all the customers.

We are particularly fond of Sam Dalzell as he has a natural talent as Maitre De, to put all customers at peace.

Having owned restaurants for 30 years, this quality is a rare find.

User

Great evening with the kids celebrating Grandma's birthday. Seriously lovely food and the kids enjoyed it just as much as we did! Finished the night with cocktails - which were fab. So really can't recommend highly enough. Thanks Libertine X

User

Great Sunday roast with my Brother today, huge portion beef was done to perfection and Tammy our waitress was so attentive. My Brother was impressed and hopes to go again before he goes back to Kazakhstan.

User

Good friendly service. Menu choices good and the special offers great value. Quality of food is good too. Love it.

User

Fantastic evening at The Libertine.

Our waitress (who was on her first night) was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she was great with my friends kids.

Food was fantastic as was the atmosphere.

Highly recommended.

User

We live in Bournemouth and used to come to this restaurant when it was 'The Hogs Head' for a Sunday carvery. A friend recommended The Libertine to us and suggested we go on a Tuesday for Steak night. It was our first visit last night Tuesday 24th Jan 2017. We were pleasantly surprised, a good ambience, excellent decor and very pleasant and friendly service. We ordered a bottle of wine and two fillet steaks with a blue cheese sauce. It was delicious and the steaks were cooked to a perfect medium. We then ordered two pear and vanilla panacotta desserts which were beautifully served but unfortunately the pear quarters were very bland so there was no flavour to enjoy and for such a simple dish, we thought they were very overpriced at £6.25 each! We did tell the waitress that the desserts were disappointing and asked her to give the feedback to the chef. It would've been nice if this had been acknowledged and taken off our bill. We did leave a good tip for the waitress who had been very helpful and friendly. We would certainly go there again and recommend it to our family and friends too but we'll give the desserts a miss at £6.25 each, a lot of money for very little.

User

Came with friends on a Friday night. Making a reservation was easy. The atmosphere was nice. The food and drinks were great!

User

We arrived at 6.45pm for dinner with my 85 and 84yr old parents and my 9 yr old son. The waitress was not happy and it was apparent they were under staffed although not that busy when we arrived. We dint get our dinner till 8.25! The food was good but not worth the aggravation.

User

Very nice pub, great atmosphere and friendly and helpful service but the food was below average which is a shame.

User

The food was nice. But I feel it was over priced for the amount you got.

Still hungry after a roast beef dinner.

Could of had a carvery for half the price and a larger amount. Wouldn't eat here again.

User

Popped in with a friend for dinner.

Soup lacked much flavour ( what ginger)

Main of ceaser salad. Chicken served on bone. Very dry. .. not good.

But desert was outstanding. ..

Staff friendly. .

Would I go back ... Probably not ...Sorry

User

Food.....delicious!! Great chef!!! Staff, well!! May have served ourselves, grumpy head waitress , waiter who preferred his own reflection in the mirror then clearing our plates! Cannot fault food, but staff needs a shake up! Was also given the wrong bill at the end , double what ours was!

User

As a one time local resident of the area, I visited this place many times when it was the Hogshead. Since refurbishment and renaming, the old clientele has mostly vanished by the look of it - not many eventful nights out for any of the emergency services thanks to that it seems.

I would not recommend, however, asking the bartender to surprise you with something different in terms of drink, as they will promptly draw up a very expensive cocktail costing you the best part of ten quid.

That said, not a bad looking place, the food is decent - and to be honest, I'd sooner go here than go to Cafe Rouge over the road - but then I don't live in Westbourne anymore so it doesn't bother me!

User

Went in yesterday for something to eat around 4pm. Was very disappointed by the food. Wife had fish and chips and wasn't impressed at all by the taste and amount of bones and the 6 chips weren't really cooked properly. Had burger myself, burger was nice tasting but the floppy limp cold skinny fries were a disappointment. Sorry to say won't be going there again.
