We are a family friendly traditional fish and chip shop in Bitterne, Southampton. Gluten free options are available for people with wheat /gluten intolerances and coeliacs.

Situated in the heart of Bitterne is The Little Fryer, a traditional fish and chip shop which also specialises in gluten free offerings.
We are a traditional chippy, locally renowned for fantastic quality food cooked fresh to order. Our customers favourites include:
• Garlic Cheesy Chips (freshly cooked hot chips, drizzled with homemade garlic butter and sprinkled with grated cheese then placed under heat to melt into pure indulgence, with no gluten in the recipe this unique dish can be enjoyed by all)
• Homemade Curry Sauce (a secret blend of spices made fresh every day, gluten free option available)
• Freshly Cooked Fish (Our cod, haddock, plaice, sea bass and skate is available steamed or cooked in our traditional batter with a twist, we also offer a gluten free batter with customers coming from far and wide to enjoy their favourites)
About the Owner
Deirdra grew up in Ireland and is the Daughter Jimmy Cranny who began his fishing carer at the tender age of 13. Jimmy caught fish off the east coast of Ireland and instilled a passion for seafood which is evident in Deirdra today. Deirdra has been running The Little Fryer for over a decade and her core values of great food and second to none customer service shine through to deliver an outstanding offering every time.

We are looking for a reliable and trustworthy part time (16 hours) customer service catering assistant to join Little Fryer shop in Southampton, to start as soon as possible. Duties to include: prepping, serving hot meals and beverages, ensuring that the kitchen and service areas are clean and tidy at all times, ensuring all displays, counters and seating areas are presented to the highest standard, offering a friendly, professional and welcoming service to our customers, p...rocessing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, cash register operations, to provide general support as required and follow all health & safety and food safety regulations at all times (having up to date hygiene certificates is a bonus). You MUST have recent experience in a similar role and be a quick thinker and quick on your feet, be a good team player and able to follow instructions from your manager, be well presented, have excellent customer service skills. You also MUST be able to work Monsays and Saturdays. Thank you for all support on The Isle of wight challenge. I personally achieved 68 kilometers. What a beautiful island . Started the walk on Saturday at 9am . Went through till Sunday day 4am. Nothing could prepare you for the terrine. Next time I go, it will just be for pubs passed💚 We are closed today and I hope you enjoy your bank holiday. Many thanks for all support.
