There has been great services, festivals and the introduction of our bar menu on Saturdays. And of course we can’t forget winning the AA Restaurant of the year in Scotland. stayed overnight here in the Scottish room on Wednesday thanks to winning a competition! cannot praise this place enough! Was absolutely amazing, couldn't fault it! The room was so so homely and massive! we enjoyed the 6 course tasting menu for our dinner with a lovely drink and then were served a lovely full Scottish breakfast which was amazing! would definitely recommend to everyone! cannot thank the friendly staff enough for making myself and my fiancé feel so welcome! �

Wow ! What a place food service and overall experience is like no other ! Incredible ! We have had a fantastic night and will be back .

We had the6 course tasting menu with matched wines. Food delicious and wine first class. Setting is unique and sitting outside overlooking the silvery Tay with our coffee was quite simply idyllic. Service efficient and friendly. All very low key and comfortable. Quite simply - excellent.

We had a the most delicious meal there after winning the Facebook competition , the girls who served us were just superb! knowledge of each dish and wine flight to match , not to mention the welcome drink! The overnight stay in The French Room, wow oh lala! the decor and furnishings are not to be missed and the double shower was an extra bonus! . Cocktails on the balcony overlooking the Tay is a view to die for! Breakfast was top notch, home made black pudding is tasty! and the warm bread and home made jam yum yum . Thank you for accommodating us we had a great time! ����

This was our first visit to the Newport Restaurant to celebrate my partners 50th birthday. We were expecting good food and we weren’t disappointed. I won’t go on about it but WOW. The food was outstanding. Jamie Scott deserves the accolades he’s received. This is a charming, unpretentious restaurant and bar that serves incredible food. It’s also worth mentioning the friendly and knowledgable staff who made the whole experience an absolute pleasure. We will be back soon.

Stunning location, amazing food in a the six course tasting menu and a friendly efficient team from the dining room to the bar made our eveing a great experience. The extra course of the most unique Cheese Toastie was delicious. Make sure and try the Treacle and Ale bread too. The best sausages I have ever tasted along with perfect poached egg made breakfast an equally enjoyable experience. If you can't make it Newport-on-Tay for dinner, go for brunch !

Outstanding food, hospitality, friendliness and not forgetting the highest of class of food. Been here now three times on our Wedding Anniversary celebrations meal. Michelin award is there for the taking. Hugely recommended.

On our way home from another amazing meal at the Newport Restaurant. We had the set tasting menu and the wine flyte. Meal brilliant, drinks very complimenting and the staff knowledgable and attentive. We will definitely return for our next special occasion, and would recommend to everyone who has a love of good food and drink �

My son treated me to the taster menu yesterday for my birthday and it was absolutely delicious.The venison main was exquisite and the highlight of the menu for me, but there wasn’t a bad dish, and I would say it’s definitely good value for the quality of food presented . It was my first trip to the Newport, but I will definitely be back

I should also add, the setting is beautiful with a fabulous view over the water to Dundee. The service was exactly what I like in a restaurant, attentive, yet laid back, so the atmosphere is very relaxed, and it added to the enjoyment of the food

My husband and I had a fabulous time here for my birthday. We had the tasting menu which was incredible from start to finish. All the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and the atmosphere was welcoming. Super view out across the Tay. We would love to come back!

I was treated to the Pescatarian tasting menu on Saturday night to celebrate my birthday. While it's difficult to choose favourites from among so many amazing dishes, the humble-sounding "late summer salad" turned out to be one of the highlights again! Looking forward to my next visit.

I visited here yesterday with my husband for my birthday. We had the 6 course tasting menu. The service with impeccable and the food was delicious. There was so much detail in the presentation of the dishes and we weren’t let down with the flavours and ingredients. Beautiful surroundings. We will definitely be back �

I don’t normally write reviews but on this occasion it’s well deserved. Being Gluten and lactose intolerant, I normally dread meals out, especially a tasting menu. However, the Newport asked about my allergies and worked around them, providing me with outstanding dishes. Highly recommend, staff are lovely and very knowledgeable about their products. Best meal in years, thanks Newport Hotel.

Had the 6 course tasting menu (with extras) earlier this evening and had a wonderful time. Fabulous food - all extremely tasty, interesting and prepared with great care. Great wine list - small but very well chosen. The Portugese Lagoalva 2015 at £21 was the best value wine I think I've ever had at a restaurant. Delicious! My vegan friend was very well catered for so don't think twice if that's your thing. Sorry for harassing you Tasso, but I think you're fab!! So efficient :) Good walk ;)

Had an amazing meal here today with the family! We had the taster menu which was so fab! Even the children’s meal was great there favourite being the chocolate brownie with marshmallows! Service was also top notch! I was a little worried as I don’t like seafood but I had my meal tailored and had vegetarian options instead which were amazing! Can’t wait to come back!

Amazing place to stay and to dine - the staff here are lovely service was very good - our meal was a delight! Contemporary & Stylish we didn’t want to leave ! Definitely a must if you class yourself as a ‘foodie’ ! 5 stars ! Well done to The Newport x
