Wonderful atmosphere here today with the live music, the Christmas Tree up, the beer was great, excellent red wine, the Calves Liver was out of this world, which was the best I've ever had!! Amazing food!! A great place to go with friends and family!

This is an amazing country pub, staff can’t do enough for you and are so friendly, just brilliant in every way and food is first class, as the sign says, you feel at home here so chilled and relaxed, we have certainly made it our second home, Paul and Claire

Really nice setting, lovely food and really friendly staff who are great at their jobs. We go to the Northey arms a lot which is the same chain and this pub didn’t disappoint! �����

One of the best pub meals we have ever had, and washed down with a glass or two of real ale, a great start to our much needed break. 5�

Myself and the other half took his folks for lunch here today, the service was spot on, the food was amazing and the roaring fire was a lovely touch - will definitely be heading back sometime!

Happened into this Pub on Dec. 30th., for a quick bite to eat, and liked it so much we went back to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Great place with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Wonderful personalities, amongst the locals and the employees, with great service and food. Look forward to visiting again sometime.

Always a pleasure to walk in. As a regular we have always been made to feel welcome and appreciated, as have every visitor I’ve seen here. Chris is the most attentive man you could hope to have serving you and Mike and Ness are always on top form keeping things running smoothly. If you are eating then you are in for a real treat! A real place to stay and eat. I love honesty and this was an honest and real place. Good food, good service, good beer, good wine, served with care. My kids were happy, we were happy what more can I say. I had the black pudding scotch egg to Start, followed by the burger and finished with the sundae. The Wonderful lady advised us on what to have, she was memorable. I just wish I could remember your name. In truth I'd had to many pints of beer. Our rooms were fine and comfortable, breakfast was good too. A memorable second visit, from start to finish. From Burton to Macau in one memorable night. Thank you all so much ����

Well all I can say is WOW, the food is totally scrumptious. I truly haven't had such a tasty meal in a long time, it was all lovely and hot and so full of so many flavours.

We will definitely be returning.

Visited Saturday 14/4/18. A bit quiet at 12.30 but soon became busier especially when the people from the shoot came in. Our food was lovely . Would come back here for food and or drink. It was actually warm enough to sit out on the terrace/ garden but we only seen this when we left. Would be a nice drive out .

Very enjoyable meal. Asked for our bacon on the breast of chicken to be very well done. Unfortunately fell on deaf ears. We could not eat it. Apart from that the roast potatoes were lovely and the veg was nicely cooked. Very tasty gravy to finish with ���

Lovely food and nice romantic candle lit setting, our only downside would be that it took a little while to get served for our food order and the car park didn't have any spaces, but we will definitely be going back. Well worth a visit.

A delightful pub, just the way we like it! Open fire in the grate, trad decor and good honest food, with a warm welcome! I loved my GF burger and my husband was delighted with the calves liver! Wish it was my local.



My only teeny criticism would be, sharpen the speed of taking the order and then paying the bill. No-one minds waiting for good food especially if you don’t order a starter.

Well 2 stars is generous.......over heating in here but lets light some candles and make it hotter. Ask for the door to be opened and be told they can't as it cools the food !!! Waitress far to busy chatting to serve. No loo roll in the toilets so can't even wipe away the sweat...... food over expensive. We came here often as a treat as its expensive but before was worth it.. Ruined my anniversary surprise wished we stayed local in Chipping Sodbury. Why change something great when it worked so well.

(Polite & friendly but 40 mins to order after asking barman and additional long wait for food - Didn't bother waiting for another long stretch for desert and coffee I'm afraid).

I never leave bad reviews or complain as that's not in my nature but really felt I had to in this case. Decided to go for a meal here yesterday as we have always gone here over the years and have always loved it. I'm not sure if they've changed hands but it has definitely gone down hill. I had pork belly for my main which was served with roasted vegetables and sauté new potatoes. The meat was extremely dry and the vegetables were so over cooked that they were shrivelled up and black and some of the potatoes were so hard that I couldn't actually put my fork in them, they were like stones. I was shocked that they served it to me but a lot of it was hidden under the cabbage so I didn't notice at first. When the waitress came over and took our plates she asked if we enjoyed our meal to which I replied "The vegetables were VERY over cooked" the waitress just replied "I'll tell the chef off" which I thought was very poor, there was no apology or discount off of the bill. My husband had ribeye steak for his main and paid extra to add the 'surf' (prawns). The steak was very average, the dauphinois were dry (nothing like they used to be) and the 'surf' didn't even come out with it (although they still tried to charge us for them!) We have always had the baileys cheesecake every time we've been but it was completely different. It had hardly any flavour and was more like blancmange, it was not nice at all! The only part of the meal that we enjoyed was the appetisers. Very disappointed and won't be back in a hurry after spending nearly £100 there. Such a shame as we've always loved it here.
