We have never had a bad night out here! Aside from the really good food, the staff are all rather lovely and nothing is too much trouble. The music is always good, the atmosphere is great too. It's a totally cool place actually!

Probably one of the best pubs I've been in. Not been there for years and it hasn't changed a bit. Great staff great food and a great place to chill. Will start going back in the evenings because it used to be a great music venue and I hope it still is.

Platform Tavern well what can I say ... not been there for years but went on a date there and it was awsome so friendly made you feel comfortable. The bar staff well they're young and friendly and do a superb job. Food is fantastic too ..

And to top it off live music got to be there or be square ...

Met up with some friends I just don't see enough of, and the Platform Tavern made a great day even better. Great food and very friendly people full of good humour and fun. Attentive in just the right way, and very reasonable pricing. Big thanks to all who made our visit a top day.

Loved it. Great group playing rock and blues. Plenty of people of the more mature variety.. nice bar staff who remembered what drinks we wanted .(No pernod tho).

Would go again when in Southampton.

I totally love the live music at the Platform !!!!!! In particular the Blues artists/bands....both of a night time, AND on a Sunday lunch time when there is either a soothing Blues set or an acoustic set, I love both !!!! I am also, crazy about the interior decor and ambience of the Platform. It and the music makes me feel like I belong there...... I also love the way the staff seem to remember your face even if you haven't been there for ages. It makes you feel welcome and valued. The staff are very warm and friendly, and make you feel like you really matter. It's my favourite place to be...... :-) x

I hadn't been to the Platform Tavern before but I will certainly be goin' back. I travelled to see Canadian singer/songwriter Colter Wall and I had a damn fine night. The landlord and staff were great and made me feel very welcome. I didn't get a chance to try the food but what I saw being served up looked real good. I hope to make it back to Southampton and the Platform Tavern real soon. If you get there before me, go check it out. Thanks to everyone who helped make it a night of quality live music.

I had a three course meal with my daughter and her partner on Christmas Eve and could not fault anything. The food was fabulous and presented beautifully, the staff were very friendly, happy and helpful and we had the added bonus of listening to great live music. I highly recommend you visit... you will not be disappointed.

I had a fantastic time in the Platform pub which my husband and I, stumbled on by chance but so glad we did. Very welcoming and the decor was stunning.

Menu was very interesting and varied, I opted for a filled omelette and salad. Very tasty and the salad was not your run of the mill pub salad, delicious dressing.

All in all, the staff, the food (and wine) the atmosphere were great and I would recommend this pub to anyone visiting Southampton.

I bet the pub would be buzzing in the evening with live music, hope to return.

Great food, atmosphere and live music. Visited Southampton for a week with work and ended up here 3 times for food and to unwind.

Great atmosphere, homely and friendly staff who make you feel welcome and food that is to die for. The whole feel of the place is just right. Fireplace, music, old furniture, lighting, theme. Gonna miss it when I got back to Australia.

Consistently great.

By far the best pub for live music and the best homemade roast in the whole of Southampton. And dog friendly too. Stuart the landlord really knows has music from jazz to modern day . I can't recommend this place more highly ❤

Great atmosphere, homely and friendly staff who make you feel welcome and food that is to die for. The whole feel of the place is just right. Fireplace, music, old furniture, lighting, theme. Gonna miss it when I got back to Australia.

By far the best pub for live music and the best homemade roast in the whole of Southampton. And dog friendly too. Stuart the landlord really knows has music from jazz to modern day . I can't recommend this place more highly ❤

Really good pub, fantastic choice of beers and great food.

My only criticism, is I feel the Xmas meal was over priced and did not even include coffee & mince pies which I'm sure on previous years has been included as part of the meal.

Had a great time Saturday night watching the very talented John Crampton. Love this pub, always friendly with good atmosphere and decent live music. The foods pretty good too if your feeling peckish, though remember to order before the music starts because that's when the kitchen closes.
