By the glass this week PINK BUBBLES! ‘Jubilate’ 2014 Traditional Method 100% Pinot Noir Blanc de noirs from Aldwick Estate in Somerset. Literally 5 minutes down the road from us! . Aldwick Estate is a working farm, an events venue and a vineyard owned by Sandy Luck with longtime friend and Vineyard Manager Elizabeth Laver. .... The winemaker is Steve Brooksbank at Bagborough near Shepton Mallet whose calm pragmatism and passion shows through in the clear pure flavours of the wines. . We all hear of English wines being grown on chalk in Sussex but that's not the whole story. Here the soils are more clay-based, which can be a challenge, but the medals that the wines have been awarded are testament to their success and the attention to detail that is lavished on the vineyards. #pinkfizz #bubbles #fizz #pink #wine #bytheglass #newwine #jubilate

Wonderful food with very attentive and knowledgeable staff .. me and my other half had such a great experience, would recommend the taster menus with wine flight to match, it was superb ... relaxed country pub atmosphere, we cannot wait to come back! �

We were given a very generous voucher for The Pony & Trap for a wedding gift and enjoyed our first visit with you yesterday. And my goodness we were not disappointed !! THE best steak we have ever had - melts in your mouth it was just perfect. The service was above and beyond and everyone was so lovely. The restaurant and bar area were both warm, welcoming, cosy and looked lovely and Christmassy! The mulled wine was also very delicious! We both loved our starters, mains and the puddings were out of this world. We cannot wait to come back again very soon x

Excellent quality food and attentive staff in a comfy and cosy pub. They also gave me a free slice of cake for my birthday which was a nice touch.
