Well what can I say. We came in at 8:45pm.. and the food was amazing! Had the mussels and WOW! piping hot and just beautiful. Great stuff!!!

We've been coming to Totnes for generations now. As we have family and friends here. This invariably means a visit to the Steam Packet. As ever the service was warm and friendly. We didn't order from the menu on this occasion but had a buffet which was very tasty. The chicken satay skewers were very good!

Great surroundings in the pub and outside on the terrace looking out onto the river Dart.

We booked very last minute as wanted to get out of the bed and breakfast we were originally in and could not have been happier. Right from the start. From the friendly and helpful and super efficient staff to the lovely room and bathroom. Had a fabulous meal that night and a lovely breakfast too. Will definitely be going back. Well done to all.

There for drinks only. Service good, nice atmosphere and...dog friendly... what's not to love! Plan to visit on Sat for food�

Probably one of the best roast beef meals I've ever had!! Fantastic home-cooked food in a very nice setting, would certainly go again and highly recommend it to friends and family!!

I've been coming in here for a good few years now. Dropped in yesterday for an end of shopping beer! Excellent atmosphere, beer and food, all in an idilic location. On the tap yesterday was Doom Bar 2016 Special Reserve which made things even better!

I have to say this is one of the best hotels / B&B we have ever stayed in.



The hotel is right on the river in Totnes, off the main road, so was quite peaceful. The view over the river was wonderful. We even saw a seal that evening.



We thought the staff were amazing! Really friendly, attentive (but not overly so) and generous. They went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay and to make my birthday special. On arrival, my husband had organised for a bottle of champagne to be in the room. It was on ice and we also had a variety of nibbles and a card wishing me a happy birthday. It was a really wonderful welcome.



The room was very comfortable with everything we needed including a hair dryer, iron and ironing board available, fresh milk in a fridge just outside the bedroom. The shower was huge. The room was well decorated with nice touches. The bed was very, very comfortable.



We liked the inn so much we decided to eat there that evening. We were not disappointed. The service was great and the food was delicious. I had scallops with a rarebit topping and squid. The scallops were some of the best I have had. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his steak burger.

The breakfast the next day was equally as good. We both opted for the full English. Mine came with the perfect poached eggs.

I would like to thank all the staff for making our stay so wonderful. Big thanks especially to Harriet, Barry and Denise.



We are already planning our return trip.

Excellent Christmas meal with lovely staff in a fantastic position overlooking the water. Forget the mass production line of Xmas meals. At the Steam Packet you are treated to a lovely meal & the staff are all very friendly. Highly recommended & we will be back. Thank you.

Dog friendly and food was absolutely fabulous tasty fresh and plenty of it.

Beautiful meal and such good service. No quibble whatsoever about changing our sons meal despite it being our error in not realising it would have a sauce on it that he wouldn’t like. Can’t recommend enough

Absolutely fantastic service, even after I miss read the menu and ordered wrong they still changed it for our son.



Nothing was too much trouble and the food was beautiful.



Will be back for sure.
