*DOG OF THE WEEK WINNER* This week it is time to meet Bluebell! Bluebell likes to have a running tab at the Talisman throughout the week and has successfully managed to pay it off on time for the last few weeks!
Bluebell can often be seen eating dog treats and after a few can get a bit confident, with this she likes to bark at everything that moves within sight, but doesn’t mean any harm, she just likes to show she’s the big dog... shame about the owner David Newell 🤫

Dog of the week winner!
Meet Ted, he likes to come in on a Sunday to hoover the crumbs up left over from roast dinners and have a snuggle with himself on a bar stool! As well as this, he is known to occasionally pop in throughout the week for a swift pint!

Happy bank holiday Monday! Here is our dog of the week winner for this week!
This week it’s time to meet Ella, the most laidback dog ever! She’s great at catching and loves to lie down and chill out! As well as this, at home, she is very fond of snuggling up to her owners and having a cheeky nap!

With the weather set to be nothing but GORGEOUS over the next few days, why not take advantage of our garden, also known as a sun trap!
Whether it’s a morning coffee, lunchtime sandwich or early evening drink, the sun is in our garden all day, just like us (from 10am)!

first time ever in this pub and it wont be the last great sunday roast staff was great couldn't do enough for us even picked my own table ...thankyou for a great time see you all soon

User

We had a lovely meal at the Talisman this evening; I've always liked the Homity Pie but this evening's pie was even better than I've had previously. Hubby had one of his favourites, the Cornish pasty and said it was really good. Good service made for a good evening.

User

The place is very cozy. I had a burger and it was fantastic. What fascinated me the most was that they allowed dogs in and there was a big jar of dog treats on the bar.

User

Service was a bit slow, but for us it was worth the wait for very nice home cooked food, and very nice waiting staff. Restaurant itself is very nicely decorated and gave it a rustic feel. We will be going back there sometime soon

User

Really nice pub and decor. Good selection of beers, wines, spirits and food. Really friendly and efficient staff. Great atmosphere and good sized rear garden. Will definitely be frequenting this venue a lot more.

User

Always the place to go for good value and amazing food. Definitely recommend their pie, mash and veg. No better pub locally.

User

Always a great place to visit after work or for a social. Good ales and lovely food. Very friendly and attentive staff.

User

Went at lunch time just as it opened..food was good but service was a bit slow as the kitchen was just starting up for the day. Good ambience, oldie worldie.

User

The Talisman is the best pub around here with great food ,many real ales and lovely staff . always busy but never packed just how i like it . Go there all the time for a quick drink or a longer meal in the restaurant . Try it if you have never been .

User

Nice friendly atmosphere however food very expensive and not a lot of it.

User

My friend’s and I had lunch on Saturday - lovely food, good choice of wine and good service. I especially like the “light bites” menu for smaller appetites.

User

I really like this pub. It's relaxing and nice place to eat and the food is nice.

User

We don't live locally but love this pub when visiting family but the service is very slow now and the food is not as good as it used to be

User

Booked for a birthday for 12 people, we had to order at the bar which was not a problem - we all did so one after another & all paid separately. Some of the group had starters - the mains started coming out before the starters were even finished & cleared, by the time everyone's mains came out a few of us had already finished. It didn't appear it was overly busy - I work in a busy pub/restaurant myself & I did not feel this was up to standards that should be given in a pub as well liked as this one. The bar staff were polite & well mannered, the food was lovely, but a few people said their dishes were luke warm.

User

Menu changed for the worse. Garlic flat bread they weren't kidding! Garlic tortilla more like! Not sure how some shredded carrot qualifies as coleslaw. Small portions. Overall very disappointing. No one to check on us about how the food was.

User

Would not recommend anyone eating here!! Starters were disgusting over salted and oily

Mains didn't come up any better.

Service was good to start but then turned for the bad! Staff stood around chatting

Not once asked how our meals were etc!

User

Went here previously with friends, had a lovely chicken salad. Went back had ribs, my partner had chicken. Ribs were very fatty, the sauce was not nice. Salad was about 5 leafs with 3 tomatoes. My partners chicken was dry and the seasoning was just on the chicken skin. We don't eat chicken skin, so this was removed resulting in the chicken being even dryer. She only had a few chips with her meal. Overall, over priced and meal very poor. Won't be going back.

User

Was not happy with food prawn cocktail was soaked in vinaigrette the main was a £10 burger which was burnt and bun was burnt as well I am shocked as I have heard so many good things about this place the staff were great and manger as well and took time to chat and listen to us and told us he will forward our comments on

Just disappointed as we took my sister out for a meal which she was really looking forward to

Hoping to go again and be pleasantly Surprised the next time

User

Me and my partner went yesterday for a roast dinner that cost £11 for a roast pork and£16 for lamb shanks and they came with hardly any veg .The veg was mainly cabbage which neither of us like so we were left with about 4 tiny potatoes , meat that didn't taste right so I left most of it and a Yorkshire pudding . Very disappointed and won't be going back again that's for sure . The beer selection was very poor also I might add . It's a shame because the bar itself is decorated to such a lovely cozy standard with the log fire and candles burning.
