Are you looking for a New Year Challenge?? The BHS Challenge awards may be for you... They are the new awards, for the novice/ recreatonal rider who wants to gain confidence and experience around horses.
There are BRONZE, SILVER and GOLD levels. There are no formal exams, training and assessments are ongoing within your lessons ( Except the 'Ride Out Safely Silver awards, which would include the BHS Ride Safe Exam - a must for those riding their horses out on the roads).... To complete these awards, you would need to become a BHS Silver Member (Or Gold to benefit from their Insurance package). You can complete these with our horses, or your own.
We will be running courses towards these in the New Year. If you woudl be interested in hearing more - please either email us, or PM us and we will get in touch.

Wonderful horses and fantastic instructors. I returned to riding this February after an 11 year break, I was unsure if I really wanted to ride again. 6 months down the road I ride as much as time and money allow, I've even been persuaded to enter into a dressage competition where I received some really encouraging comments from Pippa, I was absolutely on cloud nine when I saw them. Everyone I've met at Talland has been so nice and friendly every week I can't wait for the next lesson. I have quite a demanding stressful job and my lessons has proved to be a real stress buster, coming back to tiding at Talland is on the best things I've done for myself in ages.

Two fantastic days of training with the most inspirational lady. Pammy was so helpful and enthusiastic about helping us to develop our skills but most of all helped my confidence no end, I have left feeling I could take on the world.

Sorrel has just had a great second riding lesson at Talland,she is really developing well,a big thanks to Zoe her instructor and a thank you to the team for making us feel welcome.

Lovely two days, Sophie and I learnt so much. Blondie had a lovely stable for the night with very friendly yard girls, lots of sweeping!

Lots to work on many thanks to Pippa for all her tips and training aids very helpful.

Many thanks to the family for donating the prize at the side saddle show so Sophie could experience so much.

Just had the most fantastic lesson with Pippa Hutton... very emotional after a ten year break from ‘stressage’... especially as it was her late grandmother who gave me the encouragement all those years ago. Even had tips from Pammy herself � so shocked I didn’t realise she was talking to me!!! Feel

Just had the most amazing 3 days away being trained by Hillary and Gerry both fab trainers who were sympathetic to my flighty rising 4 year old and had great eyes on the ground, can't wait to go back and further his education

Just got home from two days at Talland with a lunge lesson and a schoolmaster lesson each day. Had my lessons with Michael and thoroughly enjoyed it! Lunge lessons gave me lots to work on and my lessons on the gorgeous Tommy were great even though I've never ridden a horse who can do these movements before, the 4 time changes were brilliant! Thank you very much and I will definitely be coming back �

Just got home from my first visit to Talland in a good while and I will not let it be so long next time. Pammy was superb as always, and chose me the perfect horse! I had a fabulous ride and loved every moment. Feel very privileged to have had such a wonderful time on a fabulous horse.

Im in absolute awe of this yard I'm hoping to apply for Blue Chip Academy to try and raise myself confidence as I've been so impressed with the academy on Horse and Country TV and would love to spend time gaining quality advice from Pammy as to me there is nothing better than friendly firm and supportive advice to bring out the best in both horse and rider

I traveled a 300 mile return trip to have a couple of lessons on school masters and had such an amazing experience

that I went back 2 weeks later! I am now planning to make the journey as often as possible while my horse has a year of due to injury in the hope that we will both come back stronger. Pippa Hutton was great and whilst I am only used to working my horse at prelim/novice level she gave me the confidence to make the most of the school master trying changes etc. Beautiful place and exceptional training.

I had a thoroughly enjoyable lesson on Saturday with the lovely Emma Harford. It was my first ever side saddle lesson and I didn't come a cropper! Promise was a real sweetie and looked after me. I've caught the bug again, and am truly fired up to get my teeth into a whole new discipline- side saddle! I am more confident to keep training and look to competing this coming year at both dressage and side saddle :o thanks so much! Fabulous establishment, fabulous horses and I can't wait to return and feed my horsey addiction. X

I can't honestly thank the staff in the office and on the yard all the students and instructors enough for Megan and rio's 2 weeks with you .

They had an absolutely amazing time we where made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived to the moment we left ,which was my main concern that Megan wouldn't settle .

I can't thank you all enough for looking after them and helping them learn more .

Pipa was great with Megan and Rio they looked amazing when I came back and watched her last lesson on Saturday .

I came for a lesson at Talland recently and loved it. My instructor Raffi was so patient with me and took the time to explain things I didn't understand and answer my silly questions - she was great! I really felt like I had learnt a lot and accomplished something at the end of the lesson. The horse was also fantastic and clearly very well schooled. I will definitely be back for more. Thank you!

Had the most fantastic four days at Talland. Pammy Hutton is such a brilliant and inspirational instructor and is incredibly generous with her time. Loved riding the beautiful Timmy and can’t wait to come back

Great few days training with Pammy Hutton Dressage we can’t thank Pammy enough for fitting us into her busy schedule.... 2 days of lessons and a very interesting and informative lecture demo last night, great turn out to see the levels of training .

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Pammy for two excellent days of instruction at Benridge Equestrian in Northumberland for the Border Riding Club. Everyone learnt so much and the improvement in all the horses way of going was phenomenal!

We also very much enjoyed Pammys evening demonstration which attracted around 80 people, it was both highly informative and entertaining !

Many thanks Pammy for your time and passing on some of your vast equine knowledge, we look forward to seeing you again in the spring.

Feeling totally inspired after getting back from Talland, did things I never dreamed I would do with in my four days up there. I had lessons with Pammy, Brian and Pippa and learnt so much for all of them!! Also had my first side saddle lesson with Emma which was Brilliant !! I want to say a Massive Thank You to the whole team at Talland for your Encouragement, time and patience.

Fantastic place with expertise training- gained so much in three lessons here more than I have in years! Can't wait to come back again! Yard staff very helpful too! Thank you!

Fantastic riding school. I've Loved every lesson I've had here. The staff are so friendly & the horses are amazing. I can't thank my instructor (Tarsha) enough for all she has taught me so far. She fills me with confidence. � Also must say the office staff are always so lovely and helpful. I would highly recommend to anyone.
