Introducing XXV from The Flowerpots Brewery (haven't got a pump clip yet!). This beer is to celebrate 25 years of doing what they do best! It is a 4.2% "special US-Hopped Pale" No doubt it will be as stunning as the rest of the beer that these super cool dudes make!... Pouring from 5pm today (Friday 7th Sept) at The Witch's Brew. STRAIGHT FROM THE CASK INTO YOUR GLASS

A gentle start to TWB week; The very light but oh so tasty brew from Broken Bridge is taking the session spot, I have a wonderful beer called Reefer from Steam Town and the amazingly clear Danish Dynamite as offerings. There will be others to add to the list but I am waiting to see what 'drops' 1st...ya can't rush a good brew & I will only serve a beer when it is ready! The Flower Pots bitter will be ready in a couple of days, I am expecting another cask of Amarillo from Long...dog along with the Red Runner, both perfect ales for this time of year.
Electric Bear beer is heading my way on Thursday & I am looking forward to supping these beauties!
Anyway, watch this space for updates!

Order (ish) has been restored, I just need to wrestle a couple of beers into submission & I will be good to open at 4pm today! A cheeky German Session is on plus a good old faithful from Stig (Stonehenge Ales)..yes..Danish Dynamite, a tasty 5%! A drop or 2 of the Barton from Steam Town remains, a dash of Summerset from Yeovil is left....and possibly something else! The cask ales sell so quickly, I dont get a chance to take pics of the pumpclips! Massive thanks to Ian Black fo...r using his 25 years of tapping experience last night! Here is a token gesture pic...

Wow! A super busy evening, thanks to all who came in for libations!Wow! A super busy evening, thanks to all who came in for libations!

After many hours of mopping, order has been restored. Massive thanks to Leanne for taking Giz for a few hours. Open at 4pm today (Sat 1st Sept).πŸ»πŸ§™β€β™€οΈπŸΎ

Now taking up the nonslip floor mat!

User

Pop goes the shive! Bugga! Top marks to the brewery who supplied this cask....within moments of me letting them know what happened, they were not only saying sorry but, without hesitation, insisting on either a refund or a credit note. THIS BREWERY IS ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH AND I BLOODY LOVE THEM. Beer will be beer and these things happen.... Wellies on, Giz the dog is with Leanne so a-mopping I will go! πŸ˜ƒ

All change in my beloved boozer TWB: The amazingly juicy brew known as The Phoenix (6% orange IPA) from Drop the Anchor, will, no doubt, be the star of the show. Open from 5pm on Friday 31st Aug. Plenty of other wonderful cask ales will join the line up too.

User

Juicy Kismet Pale Ale brewed by Longdog. Β£3.00 for a 500ml bottle, drink in or take away. Offer whilst stocks last!

User

'Carlos the Quizmaster' struts his funky stuff to bring y'all tantalizing questions on many subjects. Just a quid to enter per head. Teams of no more than 4. The winning team's prize is a drink on the house (per head).. Starts at 7.30pm

User

...Just to start things off from 5pm on Wed 29th Aug. Other delights will be ready later in the week. (should I mention the Drop the Anchor Phoenix IPA 6%?) Na...I won't say.. that it is coming on to pour from Friday....πŸ˜‰πŸ»..I also won't say that, as far as I know, TWB is the only Southampton boozer that has it at the moment.... See y'all soooooon... Mary & Giz πŸ§™β€β™€οΈπŸΎ

User

Another unique table done by Steve Newton!

User

I can think of no better place (from 4pm today), than TWB: Cute, quirky and serving extreeeemly wonderful ales & ciders!

User

Now serving Perridge Pale and Seclusion at TWB! SO FRESH, SO SCRUMMY, SO GET YA-SELVES A BIG PINT FULL!

User

This beauty has joined the line up for the weekend too!

User

Very local for me, ale selection changes so you get to try something new. Honest pricing, friendly atmosphere and good beer - what more do you want?

User

Thoroughly enjoyed my first trip to The Witches Brew. So great to meet Mary who gave a very warm welcome. Looking forward to another visit!

User

The pub is a real down to earth pub which as somebody else has said is just like pubs used to be. The beer is kept in excellent condition, there is a good choice and the prices are excellent value. Service was excellent, we had a great evening.

User

The Witches Brew is a micropub on Shirley High Street. If you're into quickly rotated ales, decent conversation and interesting thoughtful people this is place to drop in and experience Mary's hospitality.

User

Smashing place, beer always excellent and clientele good.

User

Short beer list appropriate for such a small pub. Friendly, chatty owner who knows her breweries. Recommended

User

Really welcoming and lovely οΏ½ xx

User

My new favourite place anywhere, ever! Great ale and crazy-cheap prices, lovely interior, excellent outside seating area (if the currant ever shows its face again) and now, free (mini!) pool on a Wednesday ;) Owner is fab, too.

User

My friends and I had a really warm welcome from the lady of the house and her two fury friends. A very relaxed, homely feeling and the rhubarb cider was delicious. Will definitely be back

User

My favourite place to be, an amazing micro pub. Always something for everyone, great selection of REAL beer, ale & ciders. Mary is a gem of a lady & of course Giz (her dog) always makes me happy with that face of hers greeting you. If you’re wanting a relaxed drink, in an extremely friendly environment with the bonus of always having something tasty to drink then look no further.

User

Lovely place for a good pint of beer or three. And no intrusive "music"! A great addition to the Freemantle/Shirley Road drinks map, the epicentre of Southampton's ale culture.

User

Lovely bar on Shirley high street good beer and great friendly atmosphere

User

Loved the little witch decorations and how welcoming this place is, can't wait to more of the beer at some point!

User

Love this place!! Thanks for the lovely tasty cider last night :) I can't wait to come back and try the rest. The only thing I don't like is how far away from my house it is!

User

It’s great to have a micro pub that also has a great selection of cider as well as ale! Great atmosphere and always feel welcome. Quirky and unique. Definitely not a one drink pub!

User

Great micro pub, good prices and great atmosphere.

User

Finally finally made it down to see Mary and the pups. You can tell Mary puts the cask quality first and foremost based on the cracking feedback she gets and the industry-minded tour of her cellar she gave me.

Look forward to coming back soon as a punter and spending some money!

Cheers :)
