You don't actually have to be a music buff - it's a great way to learn about music and our amazing 300-year heritage!
If you've been following BBC Radio 3's carol competition, you might have noticed that one of the shortlisted entrants, John Merrick, is a member of our very own festival chorus!

"When you work at Gloucester Cathedral, a huge part of it is the 300-year old Three Choirs Festival that has all sorts of traditions dating back to the early 18th century."

Our friends over at Gloucester Choral Society are kicking off the festival season with a performance of Handel's masterpiece at Gloucester Cathedral. Tickets are still available so why not join them? ๐ถ
In this clip from a recent interview for our members' magazine, Spotlight, our Gloucester Artistic Director Adrian Partington explains how singing has changed since he was a chorister at Worcester Cathedral in the 1960s.
This was my first visit to the Festival, and I was bowled over by the friendly atmosphere and wonderful music. I shall definitely visit again next year when it's in Hereford.
Just back from Hereford Cathedral and a fantastic performance of The Planets. Being new to the area, we took advantage of free 'Festival Firsts' tickets....what a wonderful scheme! Thank you for a great experience.
Just amazing work in incredible venues. The amount of work, thought and care that goes into each festival is mind boggling. What a fantastic time I had!
Hymnus Paradisi was excellent, Ruth Holton and Ed Lyon fantastic. My mother was bowled over by the music and the people. She sang it in 1950 when Herbert Howells conducted and the organisers couldn't have been kinder, presenting her with a signed programme and a visit backstage to meet Ruth Holton and the conductor Peter Nardone. Magical evening - one my mother will never forget!!
Fantastic festival for 2015. Started the week with the Dream of Gerontius followed by fantastic fireworks! The St Matthew Passion was excellent and the National Youth Orchestra of Wales absolutely brilliant performing The Rite of Spring, and the brass excellent in the Dukas opening piece. Really enjoyed the Organ recital followed by the Organ Tour, the double act of Mark Venning and Dr Roy Masses was a treat. The Verdi Requiem again this evening was fantastic, that just leaves Song of the Widow tomorrow and looking forward to hearing Sarah Connolly. It has been a really good week!!
