It is with deep regret to inform all of our customers that we will be closing our doors in March.
Due to unrelenting pressures from the Food Standards Agency and Cornwall Council, we have decided there is no suitable alternative but to close the doors and walk away. It has not been an easy decision and we are very disappointed to have been put in this position. We would like to thank all of our customers for their support over the years and we wish you all the very best for t...he future.

Very excited to say our first trial meat box has been packaged and ready for delivery to Callington. We will soon have our website up and running for online orders, we will also be offering packs of sausages in shrink wrapped trays.Watch this space!

Yesterday we welcomed Mark and Lex from Walsall animal action to see how we operate and learn about the slaughter process in our plant. Education is key for people to understand how we differ from large industrial plants and how slaughtering in smaller abattoirs significantly improves the welfare of the animals. They we're very brave to come down and learn about something they disagree with and we have the upmost respect for them and we would welcome them back

On Saturday we welcomed 4 members of animal rights movement Devon Animal Save to a tour of our plant. With 5 hours of excellent quality discussion and questions, it was very informative for all involved. We at Tideford Abattoir are proud to be open, honest and transparent as we all have animal welfare as our top priority!

We were honoured today to welcome Sheryll Murray MP of East Cornwall to our abattoir. After a tour we spoke in depth about the difficulties facing small abattoirs and how we feel these could be improved. Kelly Budden has been working very closely with the Sustainable Foods Trust and the Campaign for Local Abattoirs (CFLA) to help secure the future for local, traceable higher welfare meat.
