User

This is the third day of our holiday and have already booked to return for a week next year, the park is lovely and the staff are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble, caravan is very clean. All in all is a really nice place. Tho only negative is the 9 hole crazy golf, it's a joke. It needs to be upgraded a.s.a.p.

User

Stayed in 2016, loved it so much that we extended our stay and booked for 14 nights in 2017. Came in 2017 and booked again for 2018. We are a couple of weeks away from our 2018 holiday and will no doubt be booking our 2019 holiday before we leave!! Fantastic place, accommodation and entertainment superb. Fantastic location. All round amazing holiday.

User

Ignore the bad reviews about this park ! Just had 4 nights here over October half term for less then £200 . The site is set in the Devonshire hills so it is a hilly site , and the swimming pool is dated , but it’s kept clean and it’s warm

Night time you can’t go wrong , entertainments team are awesome and work hard and the shows are really good , the bar staff are polite and efficient

Don’t normally leave reviews but Torquay deserves one , thank you for a great week

User

Hi guys. Sorry it's late. Had a great time at the park. This is our second visit. Kids love it there and it not far from my mum's. Staff are friendly and helpful. Pool isn't big but it does the job although could be warmer. Xx

Can't wait to come back I need to win the bingo again. Lol xx

User

Had a brilliant time here. My kids loved the entertainment and the comedy act on the Thursday night was funny. All the staff where helpful. Absolutely going to book here again.

Thank you guys for a fantastic holiday

And can’t believe how clean the park is. Been to some right flee pits. But this place was spotless.

My kids miss Sid, liz and the rest of the gang.

Once again. Fantastic time, can’t wait to go back.

Keep up the good work.

User

First time at this camp and I am going to give an honest review, most of it good, a couple of things that need to be done and a couple of suggestions to make it better.

First things first, caravan spotless clean, however pillows stained and mattress a little worn but nothing to kick up a stink about, when an issue arose it was sorted out asap

The camp itself was brilliant, much better than my 2local ones, it was better due to no owners but purely a holiday camp which is best, no in your face sales always on about buying

The entertainment was brilliant, but we all loved Kelly, blinking heck I even got up on stage and she made me feel so welcome, again she could teach my local camps a thing or 2

We never tried the food so can't really pass comment on that.

Couple of things that could do with improving.

One of the toilet doors in men doesn't lock , and the slide for the swimming pool and the windows could definitely do with a clean.

We are definitely coming back, we wish we hadn't left to go to another camp to continue our Devon break as its nothing compared to Park Dean torquay

Trecco Bay and carmarthen Bay could certainly do with looking at this camp and seeing how they could make improvements to be as good as torquay, and definitely give Kelly (entertainments staff) a bigger role she is a

User

1st time at any of Park Dean sites, Love the fact that there entertainment is spot on, Not just a half an hour slot for the kids, they fully interact with the kids most of the evening, from party games, Character games and storys, what it should be like especially on school holidays, No Grumpy Trouper moaning at kids, all Staff were so friendly nothing was to much trouble. Will Def be back. Nice to go somewhere where all Staff seem to work together as team ⛤⛤⛤⛤⛤

User

I’m currently staying here and I have to say so far my experience has been fantastic! The staff are friendly, approachable and welcoming and even tried to distract my child during her tantrums

I cannot fault the apartment I am staying in, and the facilities are good, although I would suggest that the toilets and area around the pool should be checked/cleaned more regularly.

I will definitely be booking my next stay before I leave

User

It’s getting 4 stars due to the entertainment team of Lauren , Simon , kelly and Meredith. These made the kids holiday and were always full of beans and smiling. Also the the other staff were generally really nice and helpful.

Our apartment was very clean and the balcony was a bonus looking out to Torquay bay.

I’d advise a manager uses the men’s toilets in the restaurant as they are on an awful condition and stink. For this reason we only ate there once , plus the food quality for that price was poor. While your checking it out have a game of crazy golf , it’s a pointless feature in the state it’s in. I have pictures but don’t want to show them on here.

Pool was ok ish but shut one day due to sickness.

Overall we had a great time but this was mainly due to the staff and apartment and of course 7 days of sun.

User

Currently staying on site and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised considering the bad reviews. Entertainment team are great, working with a smile and keeping the children occupied from morning to night.

Pool is OK, does it's job, only let down is you only get an hour and no outdoor pool.

The major problem is the steep hills you have to walk up especially if your caravan is situated at the far end of the park. If you want to avoid this then request a van at the top. Myself and my family stayed in a basic caravan and we got what we paid for.

We had an issue one night when the electricity went off and the lovely security team went out of their way to get us back on again, even calling the maintenance guy at night. Thanks.

This site is not as big as some of the Park Dean resorts but I can honestly say it's not the worst.

I would definitely stay here again.

User

Unfortunately not impressed with the site. Swimming pool too small to accomodate so many guests. Bar grill cafe, not enough staff. Had to wait for an hour to have food served. One afternoon a member of staff working in the cafe thought it a good idea to ride bike in the patio area where children were playing. He lost control of his bike which fell to the ground and starting spinning around! He was lucky to have not injured someone. Entertainment too small.

I’ve been visiting this park for over 40 years, my grandparents took me there at 4 years old, when it was Beesons, after having my tonsils out. I’ve seen it change hands a few times from Ladbrokes to Haven and most recently Park Dean. We have always stayed in the apartments when we can. It was always a great location for us as we have family in Kingskerswell and it’s quite central to many of the fab places we like to visit on the English riviera

We have noticed a steady decline in our perception of the park over the last couple of years. Last year we saw dogs at the park for the first time, inevitability a few irresponsible owners leave behind their mess which is extremely unpleasant for those of us with young kids. There seemed to be a lot more dirt and small bits of trash this year around the park. The flat we stayed in hadn’t had the carpet hoovered properly and had lots of grit whic stuck to bare feet. One of the twin beds was broken and we were short of pillowcases

I think we will be looking for an alternative for our next stay in Torquay which is quite sad for me after so many amazing stays. It’s just not quite up to the standard I have come to expect

User

Great place nice people and good entertainment

But car got damaged and no cctv cameras around on the holiday complex apparently to look at so as well as paying for a holiday I’m now an extra bit of cash down

User

We stayed at Torquay Holiday Park at the beginning of July 2018, and to be honest I was quite disappointed, the whole park seemed run down and in desperate need of a bit of TLC, We had a meal at the food court on our first night there, the food was good but the outside seating area was in need of a good clean up ( tables and floor), and the decking was rotting away, the second night we waited over a hour for burger and chips and it wasn't even busy so we ate in our caravan every night after that, the caravan we had was very small and cramped, the entertainment was bad as well, I don't normally complain as we have stayed at many Parkdean resorts and have never had a problem, so please Parkdean Torquay Holiday Park please sort it out as Devon is a lovely place for a holiday

User

We are currently on site we came on Friday and we leave tomorrow .. whilst the location of this site is good, the entertainment on an evening is not good. We had a very average female vocalist Friday, and a terrible duo last night that kept announcing they couldn’t wait to get home.. come on Parkdean bank holiday weekend - your budget should stretch to at least 1 quality visiting act for your guests. - we have used many Parkdean sites in the past however compared to your competitors your entertainment is very poor.. for this reason we probably not return.

User

What a big let down, caravan was very shabby and smelled musty, food was extortionate 3 burgers and chips cost 25 pounds, shop had no bread and Costa Coffee wasn't available apparently waiting on delivery, every time we went out with children was like going mountain climbing hills were enormous, pool closed for a day, witnessed staff standing on top of moving cars, obviously no concern for health and safety and other adult guests having sexual intercourse in Park area with no concern for children passing with their parents, oh and no noise after 9pm or you will security at your door, and if you want to visit the beach it's a 15 minute drive by car.

Very disappointed all round well overpriced, should have gone to pontins or butlins

User

So Park Dean... we live no more than 1 mile from your delightful park and unfortunately it is very much the subject of conversation due to the god awful noise pollution of an evening.

I’m all for everyone having a great holiday, I visited the south west many years before relocating here but always stayed with holiday providers that had respect for the local community.

I have today used the noise act powers and reported yourselves to the local authority environmental health team and also licensing team. I’m sure your aware of the regulations, unless you are able to produce(which your duty manager or security guard was unable to do this evening) written consent from the council, it is against the Noise Act to use loud speaker outside after 9pm.

Sadly, I am sat in my garden having to listen once again to your event. The Greatest Showman played at the most ridiculous level isn’t what us professionals living on the estate, paying a large amount each month to do so, want to listen to after working a long shift.

Please show some respect to your neighbours and the local community. Numerous times I have asked politely to have the noise turned down on different occasions to be only brushed off. Enough is enough.

I would appreciated a direct message with the complaints department manager to allow me to contact them direct.

I will also be contacting the local press regarding this on behalf of our community associate.

First time we have been to this site and I would never go again to it caravans out dated very little to do for the kids entertainment was extremely poor for kids and adults the bar/restaurant if that’s wot u call it closed at 930 each night staff was damn right rude my partner took the kids to breakfast with the characters only to be told by them no knew wot was going on or where to go 99.9% of the time everyone was took up in there caravans by 930 we booked to go last Friday to this Friday on the Thursday evening we was having a beer only to be told at 8pm that the bar is closing due to an issue which we fold out that was there wasn’t enough people in bar area to keep it open there was at least 25 adults plus kids I went to the nisa shop on the Thursday morning to buy some tobacco at 8:55 to find the shop closed the person that was serving was sitting outside having a fag and on his phone chatting away to his friends smelled of alcohol and his attitude was very poor the only good part was going on days out away from the holiday site one mayor issue was that there was no room in the caravan to store anything my partners Dad had to store his clothes in his car had to go in our day in day out to get a change of clothes there was no mops to clean the floor we requested one but that never arrived so my partners Mum had to get down on both knees to clean the floor the only people that did speak to any of the guest was the gardeners and bin wagon peoples the main website says how lovely this place is it’s all lies people should really look at the reviews and read them carefully before booking as u will only disappoint the kids as it for them really

User

Booked through Hoseasons was expecting so much better, had booked two caravans as a family of 9, both where dirty to the extent we spent £30 on cleaning products. We were given caravans at opposite ends of the site which is on a steep hillside, I booked this holiday 9 months ago and supplied details that our party included elderly grandparents (75&80) who while active would prefer to be close to facilities we were told this was not possible although we were onsite at 12o clock and units are supposedly not allotted till 4pm. When we got into our caravan not only was it dirty the fold out bed was broken meaning I spent a week sleeping on the sitting floor. When I approached reception I was told to contact Hoseasons as we hadn’t booked direct with Parkdean. Facilities were appalling the only eatery on site ran out of food nearly every day, I went to use the laundromat on site to find someone was washing /drying dog bedding in the only working machine. I think £2500 would’ve been better spent somewhere else.
