Uddens Pond Wood Description
Your own piece of the beautiful Dorset countryside is available for Private Hire for you and three friends to fish for just £500 for five nights. The lake is exclusively yours from 1pm on Sunday through to 1pm on Friday, that’s just £125 per angler.
The lake can also be fished on a day /night ticket when not privately booked, however we limit pegs to preserve the swims and banks and can only be booked one week in advance.

With the twisting nature of the lake there are plenty of swims for four anglers to allow you all room to spread out and move around. The exclusivity allows you to setup and have your own water to fish without being visible to anyone else and with no public rights of way you are guaranteed to be undisturbed.
The lake is fed by rich, natural springs and is around three and a half acres in size. The depth ranges from two and a half foot in the shallow end, gradually getting deeper as you travel the length of the lake, with the top bay average depth being eleven foot. The lake is fringed with water lilies and has plenty of margin shelves to fish. There are five attractive islands and the whole lake is lined with trees, bushes and plants. Well kept paths lead you around every curve and corner to each of the stunning swims.

You are spoilt for choice when it comes to swims which are comfortable to fish, yet still very natural with lush grass and plenty of features to fish in each one. The shallows are perfect for observing fish as they follow their patrol routes, brilliant for stalking and surface fishing on hot afternoons or in the evening. When you hire the whole lake the options you have are endless. When the swim goes quiet on a hot afternoon, give the swim a rest and get mobile!
There is good access around the lake with wheel chair access for around two thirds.

Well what a fantastic 48hrs at Uddens Pond Wood AGAIN huge thanks to my net man Kev Robus Awesome time and thanks of course to the lake owner Andy Majerus for even letting us set foot on this PRISTINE lake and of course Ray Young who works so hard to keep it that way always immaculate and always there for support and top guidance and guys you really do learn something new on every visit... Ray's knowledge advice and constant work bankside knows every inch of that lake and if he says they are there they are. Thanks again for a cracking midweek lake to ourselves Liberal helpings of sweetcorn my ever faithful monster ice and wafter approach seem to pay off with 5 cracking fish and lost one this morning before I left. Andy and Gavin managed to winkle out these three stunners of the future at the weekend. All three tempted by DNA Milky Malt pop-ups with a loose feed of Crayfish Mini Mix and 8mm Switch.

Ben Gosling enjoyed himself during his private hire at the weekend landing five. Four from the middle section before moving up to the deep-end to land a last doors common Sunday morning.

Bobby Woolgrove had a good weekend landing five to 20lb07oz. Jordon Booker on his first visit to Uddens Pond Wood was rewarded with a lovely 25lb04oz mirror. Others struggled in the windy cold conditions this weekend, Macauly was unlucky to drop two after his success earlier in his session. Elliot managed to save his blank with a home grown 4lb mirror.
Macauly is once again making the most of the conditions landing mirrors at 16lb and 20lb. Also commons at 19lb and this 28lb10oz stunner since arriving yesterday.
Chris enjoyed his 48hr session at Uddens Pond Wood, in his own words Chris wrote.
I have just spent a couple of days at Uddens Pond Wood trying to catch some of the very fit and somewhat illusive carp that lurk in its depths. As usual the bailiff Ray was keen to offer help and advice and the lake was in fabulous condition with a good amount of landscaping done to help make the fishing a little bit, but not too much, easier. The banks were spotless and in great condition. I was lucky enough to catch three during my 48 hours. All fought well above their weight and were in pristine shape. The Mirror went 10lb whilst the two Commons came in at 17lb 9oz and 17lb 15oz. All taken on Sticky Baits yellow Signature Squid wafters and a scattering of the Krill. Thanks Ray for the privilege of fishing on such a picturesque water.

The Machine made a visit to Craig Stone this weekend.
Craig fishing in the Guv's swim tied a snowman rig and tempted the Machine with half a krill boilie tipped with sweetcorn. After a good fight Craig was very happy to see the scales settle on 33lb03oz. A very good mid winter weight, up by 1lb3oz from last March. The Machine was reported to be in stunning condition.

... Sam was the only other angler to get his net wet with this pristine 18lb common. Again falling to a snowman, this time fished blow-back style.

Gareth and Rick faced the full force of the elements during their private hire at the weekend. The going was certainly wet! They did manage to winkle a couple out, Rick landed a lively low double first from the Rushes swim. Gareth, fishing on Chalk Point, had a cracking battle with what turned out to be a lovely 17lb08oz common. Both Rick and Gareth said the Autumn colours were stunning.
