Update to services provided during Covid-19 - From the 14th April
Vaccines
We are now able to do the full puppy and kitten vaccination courses, starting from the 1st vaccine.
... Boosters – Year one boosters in both dogs and cats are now allowed.
Older dogs – L4 vaccines are allowed and should be done yearly. If DHP is also due (normally given 3 yearly) then we can do this at the same time as the L4.
Older cats – During this period boosters will be done but, will be done slightly later so rather than 12 monthly you may be asked to postpone slightly. We will never advised more than 15 months since their last vaccination.
Rabbits – Due to seasonal disease risks all boosters are allowed.
Rabies vaccinations – Are allowed only if for certification purposes

A reminder to all clients.
To protect yourselves and to ensure that we are still able to provide urgent and emergency care to all of your companion animals, please call us from the car park when you arrive for your appointment/to collect essential medications. We will then phone you back once the vet is free or when the medication is ready to be collected.
Unfortunately too many people are still walking up to the reception desk without calling us first, this is putting you ...and our staff at a greater risk of exposure whist hanging around or even worse a congestion of clients.
Please all work together during these difficult times.

If you are isolating or don't want to leave the house unless absolutely necessary, we are now offering telephone consultations. This will need to be paid over the phone at time off requesting the phone consult. Unfortunately, you would still need to come to collect any needed medication but, it will greatly reduce contact between everyone. If during the telephone consultation the vet decides it's best that your little one comes in to practice for tests etc than there will be no additional consult charge. You will only have to pay for any medications or tests needed. Any follow up appointments will be charged as normal and again can be done by phone.

COVID-19 UPDATED PROTOCOL
In view of the current Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic , Vets4pets Brislington would like to minimise the risk and spread of the disease.
If you or a family member are unwell or showing Flu like symptoms, or recently travelled from a high risk country or have been in contact with someone that has Covid-19, then we politely ask that you do not attend our practice. We would advise that you arrange a friend or relative to attend on your behalf. If the ...appointment is not urgent then we ask that you please reschedule. In some circumstances we may be able to arrange a phone consultation.
❗️ Could we please request that only ONE person brings your pet to your appointment. This is to minimise risk to our clients and staff.
❗️Can we also please ask that where possible our clients pay with card.
❗️To reduce people congregating together in our waiting room, we would prefer that if possible you could inform reception of your arrival and wait outside or in your car until we call you In for your appointment.
❗️We advise for clients to reschedule routine appointments. For example, weight checks, Flea & worming treatment and 6 month health checks.
As we are taking extra precautions, you may experience a longer waiting time but we will do the best we can.
Thank you ,
The team at Vets4Pets Brislington.

Following the recent announcement by the Prime Minister, I wanted to reassure you that in line with government guidelines the majority of Vets4Pets practices are still open for medically essential and emergency treatments and we are working hard to continue to support you as a pet owner during this worrying time.
We have changed our ways of working to keep you and our colleagues safe. As a veterinary care provider, we exercise outstanding hygiene levels as part of our daily l...ife and we regularly carry out clinical deep cleans as standard within all of our practices. This remains our priority, so we can safely provide our services to you and minimise any risk to colleagues and clients alike.
You can also help us with the following:
- All practices are only offering medically essential appointments, so please contact the practice before travelling.
- Some of our practices have also reduced their opening hours and times; in the first instance, please check your local practice webpage to keep up to date with the latest information, as this helps free up phone lines for emergency cases.
- To minimise visits to the practice, we have protocols in place to ensure your pets get any medication they need. Please discuss this with your practice team.
- If you do need to visit, we ask that only one person per pet comes along, to help reduce the number of people in the waiting area at any one time.
- Social distancing is crucial at this time. When arriving at your practice, you may be required to call ahead and wait to be invited in by a member of the team. You will be informed if this is necessary when you call to make your appointment.
- Once inside the practice, we ask that you please respect a two metre distance from our colleagues and other clients.
- We are only accepting card payments to help minimise contact between you and our colleagues.
If you can’t visit the practice and are concerned about your pet’s health, please contact your practice team to discuss available options.
If you are a member of one of our Health Plans, we will write to you separately with details of how your plan will be managed during this time.
Our practice teams are working on the front line to help care for your pets. We appreciate your kindness and understanding whilst they continue to do their very best in exceptional circumstances.
Thank you for your continued support.

With the new situation that has arisen we want to reassure everyone that we remain open for essential treatments and procedures. However for the next few weeks we will be reducing our opening times by closing at 6pm on weekdays. Our weekend hours currently remain the same and we will let you know if anything changes.
We do ask that when you arrive for you appointment, if arriving by car, to minimise the risk to yourselves and our staff members, can you please phone us from the car park and remain in your cars. We will then call you back once the vet is ready for you. This will reduce the number of people sat in the reception area and in the store. We are also requesting that only one person accompanies your pet to the vet appointment, again to minimise risk to us all.
We hope that you all stay safe and well.

Due to circumstances at the moment we would like to reach out to everyone and say that we are still operating as normal. We will update if there are any changes to the type of appointments we are able to offer.
To protect our staff and to ensure that we are able to carry on treating all your beloved pets we are asking for the following :
- If driving to your appointment can you please call us from the carpark. We will then phone you back once the vet is ready to see you.... - We are asking that only one person accompanies your pet in to the vets where possible, especially the consult room. - If you have a hand sanitiser in your car, please use it before entering the store.
For your protection we are regularly cleaning the reception area and consult rooms. If possible we would prefer card payments, again to reduce risk to all.

So Bella before her booster this morning, decided a distraction was what she needed. Obviously best course of action to dive into the squeaky toys on the shop floor. 🤣🤣🤣
