We thought with our exciting changes for our satellite store that we would set up a dedicated Facebook page for it as we head towards our 4th anniversary of our link up with Beulah's Vintage Attic.

Our satellite space at Beulah's is moving to a new location with Beulah's move to Bell Street (next to Ollies's) in Whitchurch near Andover opposite the free car park.
Great news also for our London visitors who use the train as Whitchurch is on the main London line to Salisbury out of Waterloo.
... We will have a much bigger and better selection of stock in the new location with over 2000 records with the addition of some CD, Cassette and DVD stock as well.
Beulah's at Shipton Bellinger will cease trading there on 30th August and the new Bell Street location will open September 8th.
Look out for some opening offers and details of some of our new stock going in there.
Hopefully this will benefit a lot of our Andover regulars who can't make it into Salisbury as often.
With this move our satellite store will be rebranded to The Record, CD And Memorabilia Store.
We look forward to continuing our great relationship with the fantastic Beulah's Vintage Attic which is where we started trading in the physical sense nearly four years ago.

It's amazing what a difference a film can make to an artists or groups record sales.
We have always had an abundance of ABBA vinyl in the crates and over this weekend we finally sold out.
No worries if you want to get your hands on some ABBA vinyl we have had a delve into the stock room and will be preparing more of their great albums for the crates during the week.

One of the hardest to find albums which for want of a better word is an unofficial Elton John album that came to light a few decades after it was disclosed Elton was one of those anonymous cover artists from the late 60's.
Called 16 Hit Songs from 1969 on the Boulevard label and pressed on Red Vinyl our sister business " Elton John Store" are offering it for auction in the listing link below. This rarely if ever now comes on the market and it is one that eludes most serious E...lton John collectors collections. With the significance of Elton's future fame it is an album that would appeal to any collector of vinyl.

Elton started life as a session musician and vocalist having performed on early records for The Hollies ( pianist on He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother), Backing vocalist on " Delilah" for Tom Jones and many of the songs for The Scaffold to name but a few.
But he was prolific with The Alan Caddy Singers in providing lead and backing vocals to over 40 anonymous cover tracks on the various budget albums from the labels Deacon, Boulevard, Hallmark and Concert Hall across Europe.
You can hear Elton performing lead vocals on one of the 13 tracks that features him on this extremely rare album below...... Question originally made famous by " The Moody Blues"

Did you know that between 1969 - 1970 that Elton John contributed lead vocal and backing vocals to over 40 tracks of the anonymous cover version albums such as " Top Of The Pop's" or " Pick Of The Pops" on labels such as Hallmark, Deacon, Boulevard and Concert Hall.
All this while he had started to become a superstar in his own right having already penned the hit " Your Song" and releasing a few of his own albums.
... His budget cover album work where he was part of " The Alan Caddy Singers" along with David Byron of Uriah Heep fame stopped at the latter end of 1970 after his momentous debut in the USA at Doug Weston's " Troubadour Club" which launched his route to superstardom where only this week " Billboard Chart" announced he was in the 60 years of its existence the USA's No 1 most successful male artist and No 3 of all time across all categories.
Well in conjunction with our sister business " Elton John Store" we have a selection of many of the cover albums that both Elton and David appeared on in store in our Elton John crates and this week one of the rarest has been listed on eBay for auction. With Elton contributing to 8 tracks as lead vocalist, 4 tracks as backing vocalist, and one track as pianist 13 tracks in all this is like an unofficial Elton John album and it now vert rarely surfaces as most were binned with many people not realising the future significance of Elton John......... the anonymous cover artist because they simply did not know at the time he was on it.

Today is all about choosing from the 1000's of our latest pre-owned vinyl arrivals from the past couple of months to bring along for your crate digging pleasure at our bank holiday weekend bonanza Record, CD And Vintage fair on 25th August here in Salisbury.

They have pride in everything they do; and with a the love and knowledge of music they have, this spells for an experience like no other.

In area for weekend excellent find to add to my vinyl trail picked up a couple of missing RSD pieces and a jam classic this new emporium will be going places in the future trust me

I spoke to Paul at Vinyl Collectors about a sizeable collection of quite obscure and rare jazz albums from the 1940's, 1950s and 1960s that had been passed onto me. He was extremely helpful and was very keen to help. I got them to him from my home here is France and, not only did he purchase the entire collection of 300 albums, but gave me a very generous price. He offers the kind of knowledgeable and personal service which is all too rare these days.

I have been buying lots of vinyl lately, always get a great service with a smile and a coffee from Paul.

The quality of the purchases are second to none, the two Queen albums that I purchases recently were brilliant as was Pink Floyd.

A real asset to Salisbury; a thoughtfully curated, friendly and reasonably priced record store (that just happens to be right on my doorstep!). Absolutely none of the sub-'High Fidelity' snobbery that mars some record shops in here - whether you're into the Eagles or Throbbing Gristle, the staff are super helpful and enthused. A great selection of new and second hand music, mainstream to underground, and the quality of the second hand/collectable stock is remarkable - in nearly 30 years of record collecting, I've never (or certainly rarely) seen used stock in such consistently high condition. Unequivocal recommendation.

A great shop with a loving heart. Paul is always very happy to help out the local hospital radio station and indeed contribute to our programmes. Not many places would be as much as a asset to the community as this shop is. Long may this shop reign.
