If anyone joined us for WAX WEDNESDAY tonight we are really sorry about the wait.
We had nearly 100 people show up for dinner that didn’t book and our team not wanting to upset anyone opened the upstairs restaurant.
This was sadly a mistake as we didn’t have the staff to accommodate this and the result was a long wait on food and service not at our normal level.
... Everyone here is really disappointed and hope you will give us another chance.
If you did have a bad experience please feel free to Facebook Message us and we will do our best to make it up to you.
We are still learning every day and will do better.

Went with some girlfriends for the Cocktail championships, lovely cocktails and happy hour was great, food really lovely and love the refit, great to see an old building being reused! Will definitely be going back!

Went today with my mum and friend and absolutely loved the place! Great food and the staff & owner was really nice even gave me a tour of the place. Can’t wait to take my husband nxt time!

Went to the newquay wax as the breakfast menu was launched and my beautiful food loving friend was visiting ! We came as a group of 4 at around 10.30am . It was busy bit didn't seem too many staff . We had a lovely welcome and told that there would be a wait on food which was fine as we wasn't rushing. Okay so the wait was longer than expected.. 40mins and some people had complained . But . When we got the food it was worth the wait ! I had the breakfast bap and I was not dissapointed my friends had the 2.0 and again loved it . Crispy bacon amazing ! The staff where all attentive . The mancunian staff member i think it was Hannah was brilliant.

Went in the other day, very impressed food was lovely! Staff excellent.

Recognised chris from when he used to work at mannings so can’t wait togo back and try the cocktail menu...��.

Went for a seven course taster menu with my fiance, and it was amazing! Everything was so good, cooked perfectly (cucumber starter wasnt to our taste but was appreciated!). Will definitely be coming again!

Visited for the 1st time today for lunch, greeted as soon as we walked through the door by a lovely lady, great service by our waitress Katelee, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back

Tried Wax Newquay for the first time using my black Friday vouchers and was not disappointed, made for a great date night the only thing I would have changed was the size of the cocktails! I had the raspberry roulade and it was amazing but very small!

Organising my birthday for 20+ guests was bliss via email and through their Facebook group. Everything was perfectly served and the food was reasonable and extremely yummy! Would come back as the service was 5*!! I defiantly recommend Wax & am excited to go to go back and also to visit their venue in Watergate Bay too! Thanks to all the staff especially, Hannah, Sam B, Sam C, Chris & Leigh, your all stars! Ps the photo booth is a great idea! We have some great pics for memories!

Great venue, food was excellent and the staff were superb very attentive without being in your face. Highly recommended and we will be back.

Four of us went on Monday night after a visit to the cinema to see the Mamma Mia film. We were served by very pleasant polite staff and the food arrived not long after. Three of us had the loaded nachos and the other one had loaded fries with pulled pork. Absolutely gorgeous and only one of us managed to finish their meal. The food was freshly cooked and was extremely plentiful. I can definitely recommend Wax Newquay and will eat there as soon as possible! It does feel strange however to be eating in my old bank. I love the fact that they have kept two of the original safes!

Came here last night for the Cocktail Championships (which was a great event and really well organised - lots of fun!) Food was great, drinks even better. ��

This is the type of bar Newquay needs! Friendly staff, amazing cocktails and a upstairs restaurant that cooks brilliant local produce in unique and interesting ways!



Can’t wait to come back

We were looking for somewhere suitable to have a nice coffee and lunch and came across WAX. The coffee was really nice. AlsoI had the bacon, Brie and cranberry wrap, this was lovely, the accompanying salad was fresh and tasty. Staff were friendly and the venue was clean and tidy. Would recommended.

Unfortunately the service was disappointing. Pretty much ignored for the first 5 minutes of standing at the bar. No welcome, no smile. And only us at the bar, no other customers. Average to poor cocktails. No atmosphere. Not sure what you are trying to be.... a bar or a burger joint? And the cheap pool table in the middle of it all does you no favours

Doubt I'll return .

Pretty bad exoerience of Wax. The service was awful ... you'd think they would have more than one person able to make drinks at a two for one cocktail happy hour. No smile or greeting when we went in and no acknowledgment by the barman that we were there. Despite ordering 2 drinks and being told they would be brought over, he went on to serve other people and gave them their drinks before starting mine.

Overall pretty poor and incredibly slow service. Pretty souless and not a welcoming place and I certainly won't be going back!

We have been there tonight and for 50 athletes they put out about 7 small pizzas, some chicken wings, potato salad and that’s it. The food was about 30 child size meal and they said they put out 70 portions of food. ��� Most of us left the place hungry and angry. And apparently this is not their fault. This place is a joke. Never again.

The burglar 15 minute or free deal.... it took well over 50 mins to get the food, was told it was free next time but would be sent vouchers by email. This was on the 7th July and still waiting, have contacted them several times and been ignored...

I’ve had a couple of bad experiences now, the first was Christmas Day lunch and now not giving us a refund of £70 on the gin tasting night. No customer service as I am now getting the silent treatment! Shocking !
