We hosted our first ever School Beach clean! Over 70 very excited children from Braddock CofE Primary School joined us for the day, to learn about our coastline and to take part in a beach clean.
Any teachers out there we are more than happy to do this with many other schools, just get in touch!

Went here with a group of 17 of us.. fantastic food and service. Had to ore order our food but this wasn’t a problem. Service was fast and food was yet again lovely x

Went for a meal at Wax this evening, loved it! Great food, fantastic atmosphere and friendly staff. Food took a little while to come out but we were told about this so absolutely no issue for us, definitely worth the wait! Thanks Wax we will definitely be back again and again and again

We just went for a meal at the Newquay branch after a few mistakes the first time at Watergate. I'm glad to say it was a really pleasant experience and the food was great. We'll be back again now :)

We come here a lot! Friendly staff, yummy food and the kids are always well taken care of. The portions are very generous!!!

This is a beach bar/cafe with a great decked area, indoor seating and are super doggie friendly, with good honest fair priced food as well. Best superfood salad and sweet potato fries we've ever tasted. My only slight critical points are the toilets could do with some decorative tlc and probably a more frequent check by staff. Also some staff could do with a little more training. Ask us if we'd like napkins, cutlery etc and more smiles team Wax you work in a fabulous place �

Really friendly and caring staff serving good quality and tasty food in a great setting ... loved it ... so different to an awful experience at Wax Newquay.

Purchased Black Friday vouchers as it was a great deal to finally try both the Newquay and Watergate restaurant out, I wouldn't normally pick some where like Wax to go out and eat but after trying them both we will be visiting again �

Organising my birthday for 20+ guests was bliss via email and through their Facebook group. Everything was perfectly served and the food was reasonable and extremely yummy! Would come back as the service was 5*!! I defiantly recommend Wax & am excited to go to go back and also to visit their venue in Watergate Bay too! Thanks to all the staff especially, Hannah, Sam B, Sam C, Chris & Leigh, your all stars! Ps the photo booth is a great idea! We have some great pics for memories!

Have booked Wax for our post 10th Wedding Anniversary Handfasting ceremony next year and whilst we were down there we popped in to say Hello and just get a feel for the place.



We decided to stay and have lunch to see how good the food was and we weren't disappointed at all.



The Squid starters were superb, the burger, pizza and garlic bread were spot on, the Wax Pilsner is so easy to drink and the service was second to none. We had some leftovers and were offered a takeaway box which we gladly took.



What else do you need? Give them a go, you won't regret it!

Had an amazing meal here tonight could not fault the food one bit. Was a beautifully chilled atmosphere with great music playing in the background. My favorite thing (and this is the first time a person serving me has done this) the lovely guy with epic muttonchops actually waited till I didn't have food in my mouth to ask if everything was ok or disturbs us every ten minutes. 5stars for food and 5stars for excellent customer service.

Been a few times and have always had a great experience. Perfect place after a walk on the beach with the dog. Super dog friendly, Luna had her drink freshly bought to the table before us!! We had full on Sunday lunch, all the food was amazing, glad we'd had a walk before. No rush or pressure, friendly staff. We'll return again, lucky we're local! Thanks WAX team.

5 star always! Great staff, great food, great location. As locals we go here as often as we can. 5 star shop/surf school next door too.

Took 35 minutes for 2 burgers to come out, which was a little bit longer than I would liked to have waited however the food was very nice, staff were happy and the restaurant was clean. Working in hospitality myself I can understand staffing shortages especially in chefs if that is the issue here. Will return as enjoyed the food and the staff were friendly

When asking for coke the barman asked me if I wanted bottles and before I could reply he had opened them. This cost me a pound more per drink bringing the total to £5.20 for two 330ml cokes. I felt cheated by this which spoilt the mood after a great day on watergate beach. We also ordered a couple of desserts. Although lovely tasting, the portion of Eton mess was far to small and the ice cream was melted and full of crunchy ice which was unexpected. Wax has got a great promotional platform and some great ideas but in reality its a bit of a let down.

Went here to take them up on the Dads eat free offer and booked in the morning. When we ordered we were told the offer wasn't available and we had to book the day before. My husband commented on the post to let others know and was banned from the page. Terrible.

Went for a mid-week evening meal. 2 burgers took 3/4 hour. No apology from waitress for wait. Ask for another drink as I'd almost finished mine by the time meal came out and waiter asked if I had a tab set up!! Asked if we could have one free and after deliberation, he agreed. Don't even get me started on the food...

Sad to say yet, Me and my partner had a very poor meal on the 27th, burnt batter on our fish, which tented the fish itself. The chips seemed like they were 99p tescos own. The mushy peas was just garden peas cooked with cheap mint sauce. I've been going there from woolacombe Devon 8/9 time's a year. Since its gone from phoenix to wax the food standards have dropped dramatically. Chef's have come and gone. (Bar staff lovely.) well I'm not going back no more. After 9 years. I felt so disappointed. As an ex chef, that once loved the food there, I would be embarrassed to serve what was put in front of me.
