Weyfest Music Festival

About Weyfest Music Festival

Award winning annual music festival held in Farnham, Surrey in August

Weyfest Music Festival Description

Imagine ……
A Music Festival without mud. Where …….
People open gates for you, say “excuse me” and move aside to let you to the bar.
The tantalising aromas of great food mix with the nostalgic smell of steam from the resident
railway, conjuring up memories of a bygone industrial age.
Both Young and Old come to share new music experiences, together.
The sound of live music is everywhere whilst you wander through a fascinating museum
dedicated to life in Rural England.
Fans laugh, smile and nod to each other with a familiarity gained only from their mutual
annual pilgrimage.
SOUND TOO GOOD? NOT SO. THAT’S WEYFEST.
Weyfest is more like a mini-holiday than a music festival. It is a stress-free weekend in the
country, with over 30 hours of the finest music from 4 stages, camping, posh loos, friendly
staff and plenty to occupy the kids with music-, drama- and creative arts workshops; train
rides and the many attractions offered by the venue itself - The Rural Life Centre, Tilford, set
in the outstanding natural beauty of the Surrey Hills.
There is a fabulous selection of great food available from the in-house café and the plentiful
food stalls; a wonderfully stocked bar at pub prices; a fascinating museum and the
friendliest staff and audience you will ever encounter at a festival.
The venue itself is a major reason for Weyfest’s increasing popularity. The Rural Life Centre
is a working museum, littered with artefacts of past country life and craft displays
throughout the venue. A working light railway runs both steam and diesel trains around the
perimeter of the venue and because the venue is so compact everything is within easy
reach. No trudging for miles from the car park or campsite, no long walks between stages . . .
and no major journey to reach the excellent food and bars!

What a great festival. Shall be attending again next year and would highly recommend this to anyone .Always something to do, something to see, very good food stalls, very friendly people ,great atmosphere and great music..Only down was the weather but even that could not spoil a great event.

User

Weyfest is one of those festivals where everything is in striking distance. No long walks between site and camp site, or between stages. A compact little festival with a big punch. No rip off beer bars. Take a trip round the web site. It's a wonderful festival

User

Weyfest is a great festival, I have been for the past 3 years and love it, this is such a family friendly festival with great acts and an amazing atmosphere set in a great location!!

I can't wait to go again next year!

User

This year was our first Weyfest experience. From start to finish it was brilliant (apart from the weather on Sunday) from the carpark stewards, to the acts on the stages, all fantastic. A massive thumbs up to all those involved in organising this. Long may it continue, we will certainly be eagerly anticipating next years line up

User

This was our fourth visit, and I can say it was the best one yet. My family and I are beyond excited for next year! Well done, Weyfest

User

This was our 1st year at Weyfest and my 1st festival. Very well organised with great facilities. Fab family event will definitely be making it an annual thing!

User

Third year at Weyfest, loved it, even though I damaged my shoulder pitching the tent in bad weather. A trip to A and E , X-ray and popped ligaments and raised clavicle..... wearing a sling and in constant pain, I still managed to enjoy the festivities. Just wish it could have been to the fullest. Though the setting, the atmosphere, the hard work that goes in for this event, is awesome, thank you all at Weyfest for your continued hard work. You guys do a fantastic job.

User

My first visit and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great bands and friendly people. Well done all.

User

It is such a good weekend or even just a day out. The acts are amazing, the people are so friendly and welcome, you feel safe, there is such yummy food and the loos are also very nice) YOU HAVE TO GO!!!!!

User

I love this festival, it holds a special place in my heart . Great bands, of all genre, a great family festival with much to do for all ages. It has that personal touch. And dogs are allowed :)

User

I first went to this festival in 2009. It has grown hugely since then yet has effortlessly maintained its relaxed, easy going, charming nature. This is no mean feat considering the numbers that now attend and the organisers should be rightfully proud. I do miss the old communal 'jamming tent' that used to be on the camping area though. Had some great times in there with the likes of Leatherat and Steve (OMOM).

User

Good selection of tasty gluten free food which is important to me as I am a coeliac the music is fantastic and I really like being at weyfest for my second time with my dad

User

Brilliant family music festival held in the grounds of the rural life museum but with an intimate feel. If camping, great facilities too. Plenty of food and merchandise stalls and other activities to see in the museum. If you can only visit one music festival a year then this must be your priority. Just wished we had not left it till the 10th year to make our initial visit.

User

Best little festival in the UK. Lineup always full of carefully selected brilliant musicians. Great beer, food and a lovely friendly place to bring the whole family.

User

Been twice to Weyfest and planning to go again next year. We go as a group and love the quality of the acts, as well as the friendly and safe atmosphere of the festival. If you haven't been yet then you should!

User

Another lovely sunny day at Weyfest this year. So much to see and do and lots of choice for musical taste. Good family day out as the train is always popular as were the daleks for when the kids get restless! Facilities excellent as usual as well as the thoughtful help given on site by the organising crew.

User

A superb festival. A Perfect introduction for those who never attended festivals in their youth. A really relaxed environment where you make friends and freely move from one stage to another. Excellent variety of music (I loved Inglorious, Brothers Strutt and Stereo MC). Very helpful stewards, great camping and all so close to the venue. Would thoroughly recommend and looking forward to next year already.

User

A perfect small festival with great bands, good facilities and very good food

2018: Our first ever proper (and probably will be my best ever) festival. I chose it because of 10cc, who I'm seeing 4 or more times this year and the promise of polite attendees and clean soft loo roll-filled loos and showers! But I'm so glad we came for the 3 days otherwise we would not have found Smith and Brewer on the Old Kiln Stage: bought the album on strength of live performance: they are like the Simon and Garfunkel of country/folk music, two genres I don't normally rave over?!. (They are touring soon with Ralph Mctell.) Hayseed Dixies were hilarious. With Friday's choice of 2 stages and the weekend's choice of 4, showcasing 65 acts, bring a fold up camping chair, grab some street food placed conveniently in between the stages and relax in the grounds of this charming museum site nestled in picturesque Farnham greenery. The clothing, jewellery and other stalls togther with the Sci-fi section, music workshop, train rides, kids play area and Rural Life museum adds value/interest to this extremely well-organised musical extravaganza. We popped off site for a quiet walk around the RSPB grounds nearby guided by the OS map app and you can top up essentials at shop at the nearby garden centre. The hubster's coeliac needs (even gluten free chips!) were catered for and there were a variety of fairly healthy foods on offer. Met some lovely fellow campers: there is such a pleasant, safe, relaxed atmosphere here and staff on hand everywhere to help you. Aside from a few noisy, potty-mouthed revellers keeping us awake long after 2am every night (bring earplugs!) we had a fantastic time. Please could you provide recycling waste containers in future?
