Pirates are often pictured with a cheeky Parrot on their shoulder, and this may not just be something created for stories! Pirates sailed throughout the Atlantic Ocean pillaging for anything that could make them money, and they would often stop in Caribbean Islands where there were large parrot populations. The exotic pet trade was very big in Europe and rich people would pay good money to own a rare pet, so if a Pirate had a penguin on his shoulder it's unlikely it would have been there long! #piratefacts

Notorious Pirate William Kidd, also known as Captain Kidd, was hanged in 1701 for getting up to some particularly 'piratey' antics. After his execution, his body was displayed in chains above the River Thames for 3 years in an attempt to deter other would-be pirates #piratefacts

User

It is widely assumed that Pirates wore eye patches to cover a missing or wounded eye, but in fact an eye patch was more likely to be used to condition the eye so the Pirate could fight in the dark or below deck. We welcome both patch wearers and non-patch wearers aboard here! #piratefacts

The flag commonly flown to identify a Pirate ship about to attack was called the Jolly Roger, and it depicted a white skull & crossbones on a black flag. It was used throughout the early 1700s by a number of Pirate captains including Black Sam Bellamy, Edward England, and John Taylor. We now use the skull & crossbones to mark the holes on the course! #piratefacts

User

Aaarhhh! Ne'er too early to book in for the next swashbuckling pirate adventure mateys!!

User

Did you know, that Pirates didn't just wear earrings to look cool- earrings were also worn for superstitious reasons. Some Pirates believed that the precious metals in an earring possessed magical healing powers, and that wearing an one would improve or even cure bad eyesight!#piratefacts

User

Went here yesterday thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at £6:50 each we thought a little expensive but had picked up a voucher (which are everywhere around weymouth) which gave us £2 off each ticket so only paid £9 as 18 holes was a good hour well spent could do with a little maintenance as a few holes were quite worn but otherwise great experience

User

We got there just after opening so only one group in front of us. Had a great time and found it to be great value as it's 18 holes not the usual 9. Definitely would go again. Only downside was me losing.

User

Very busy during summer holidays. Had to queue for each hole. But worth it.

User

Pirate golf provided my daughter and friends a fun filled afternoon! The young man (Rob) was friendly, attentive and made the experience even better - thank you! We will be coming again x

User

Nice simple day out, close to home

User

My 8 year old son had a wonderful time. It was great fun and the staff were friendly.

User

Excellent game of mini golf ⛳️, great holes and surroundings , go there every year when I visit Weymouth

User

My husband and & I took our 7 year daughter and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It is however a little run down nothing that some paint and varnish couldn't cure. The biggest problem is that they let too many people in at once so there is a lot of waiting per hole if there is a large group in front of you. But it was a good family couple of hours out and would visit again...

User

Managed to get a hole in one which made my day. Great lay out and good fun

User

Have been here lots of times, great value although in desperate need of a refurb, doesn't detract from the entertainment though!

User

Good fun and pretty well kept with some nice planting etc. Holes from very easy to quite hard. Most kids seemed to be enjoying it as much as my daughter and I always do.

User

Excellent I love it my child loves it and half price with Merlin pass, probably wouldn't go as much at the full prices though.

User

Every time myself And family visit Weymouth we play Pirate Golf Last year it began to look dated due to vandals etcHowever this year it is again much improved With a little more work carried out on it would be amazing Only thing we found would have liked to find it open at least 10 00 am as had to wait several visits until 11 00 am

User

A good course to play. Great sound affects all around the course. Just a bit of TLC required. Some felt peeling off, cracked pipe coming out of some holes so ball does not fall in and concrete lips making ball fly up high and not going under cannon! Fully enjoyable tho for all ages 3 +

User

The course is a little dated in places but otherwise everyone enjoyed. We weren't aware booking would have been a good option. I was most disappointed that we couldn't enjoy this attraction as a family. With a baby in a buggy the buggy cannot get around a course be in summer heat wouldn't tolerate being carried for an hour so an adult had to sit out - which wouldn't be so bad if you could see most of the course to be a part of it but you can't. Felt like it spoiled a much looked forward to family afternoon.

User

Fun course but looking very tired - much of the theming is in state of disrepair and the planting unkempt.

User

Could do with a bit of tlc. Greens worn out and pirates falling apart. Good bit of fun though

User

Travelled 50 miles to play as told was very good when recommended, and half the course closed, not a good experience

User

Loved this on previous times we had visited, queued up today to be told we had to wait until 5 p.m and only two of us could play (it was 3.30!). Why have bookings? There were ten or more people in the queue behind us so you lost a fortune in a few minutes. Everyone is happy to turn up and pay to play, no need to book at all.
