About Whiteley Village Vet Centre Ltd

Multi-award winning, independent vet clinic in Whiteley, providing 1st opinion and referral services to pets. Friendly, professional and superbly equipped.

Whiteley Village Vet Centre Ltd Description

The team at Whiteley Vets pride themselves in providing the standard of service that pets would choose for themselves. Our complete ethos is based around 'pets first' and we strive to treat every patient individually, and as if he /she was our own (of which we have many : -)). Clients are also welcome, and almost as important, and we look forwards to welcoming friends, both old and new to our purpose built state of the art facility.
We offer both first opinion and referral services, particularly in cardiology, diagnostic imaging and certain surgeries. This means you can either be seen here all the time, or we work with your normal vet when they refer them to us, with treatment often continued at your local practice, in conjunction with them.

Finally got our IFSM certificate through to confirm our Cat Friendly Clinic Silver Award. Having been fully cat friendly since opening, it's taken a while to eventually sit down and get the form filled in. Having lots of mega cat fans here, always supporting gentle handling techniques, and having our very own Feline Medicine Cert holder, we really should have submitted this a while ago. Talk about a winter vomiting bug!!!
Similarly to many other practices around the country, we are seeing a very large number of vomiting dogs at the moment. Contrary to some social media posts, most of these are NOT associated with poisoning incidents. Most affected dogs are experiencing acute severe vomiting for 12 - 24 hours (lots of exceptions), followed by diarrhoea very briefly 1-2 days later. Many are very quiet and lethargic whilst vomiting - can't blame them really... - but perk up quickly thereafter. Anti vomiting medications and rehydration, either orally or i/v is proving very effective. Unfortunately this presentation can also occur in other conditions such as foreign bodies - blockages - so it is important to get your furchild checked over if it continues for any length of time, or before they get dehydrated. Hopefully this will clear up quickly and we don't have to see too many more of you!

At Whiteley Vets we strive to make sure that our patients are relaxed and comfortable during their visits to us.
Gorgeous Finn was so relaxed that he decided to use our lovely nurse Hannah as a chair 😉😍

A huge congratulations to our multi talented head nurse Rachel who has added a Nurse Certificate in Anaesthesia to her post graduate qualifications. She already had her Emergency & Critical Care certificate - and is questioning as to what cert next!
A very well done for all of the hard work and dedication. Another feather in the Whiteley Vets cap :-)

This year's Petplan award nominations close this month. If anyone thinks that we deserve to be nominated, here's the link. If you think there's anything that we could do better, please let us know directly - either through the suggestion box, telling Naomi or Cara, or emailing us. That's how we'll improve further!
Having been runner up in the Vet of the year, and nominated for everything else previously, (and won best practice in the National Vet Awards) we'd love to get the top spot in the Petplan awards

* FOUND *
We recently had this gorgeous cat handed into the practice after being found in the local area. Unfortunately not micro-chipped, so we are hoping that someone on here may be looking for them. If you think that you may know who this lovely cat belongs to please contact the practice on 01489 571192, as we'd love to reunite them with their family for Christmas 😃🎄

Later this week one of the team will be heading to Brent Lodge Wildlife Hospital to drop off some much needed newspapers/supplies.
They are currently desperate for both food & bedding. If you have anything that you would like to donate eg, newspapers, food, towels etc we would be happy to accept these at both our Whiteley & Warsash branches.
All donations will be very gratefully received & put to good use :)

It's Fireworks season again, and while this can be great fun for us, sadly it's not always the same for our furry friends. Many of them find the sight and sound of fireworks terrifying and as pet owners this can be upsetting for us to deal with.
There are many ways that we can help to alleviate their stress and we are offering a FREE seminar at the practice on Wednesday 30th October from 6:30pm - 7:30pm where we will be covering firework-related issues and potential solution...s.
The seminar will be hosted by one of our Vets, Dr Sasja Borup Pustelnik, and our Head Nurse, Rachel Brant.
We look forward to seeing you all next week, and should you have any concerns in the meantime please do not hesitate to contact us on 01489 571192 during our normal opening hours.

Whiteley is very fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful woodland, and diverse wildlife. From time to time they need a little help from us, and we currently have a lovely little collared dove staying with us at the hospital. He has been with us for a few days & is making good progress so far, and will be moving to Brent Lodge Wildlife Hospital this weekend to continue his rehabilitation.
Brent Lodge currently have 100's of animals in their care & are in desperate need of foo...d to keep them all going during their rehabilitation.
If anyone would like to drop off any donations to us here at Whiteley Vets (anything is appreciated, but the Hedgehogs in particular are less keen on the fish flavoured foods ;-) ), we would be more than happy to take them with us when we deliver Dylan the Dove :)

More new babies today. Our poor new Mum ran out of energy in the middle of labour and had to have a bit of surgical help. Welcome to the world little ones. Despite all of the intricate and advanced procedures we can do, few things beat delivering healthy babies. Mum and babies all doing well.

Huge 'Thank You' to everyone who came to our Open Day and Birthday Party yesterday - I very much hope that you all enjoyed it as much as we did. At the 'Guess the kibble number' competition, guesses ranged from 350 to 2136. The actual answer was 747 - congratulations to Diana Skoyles who guessed 730. You have a big bag of HPM to collect - just let us know which one you would like - I suspect a 12kg adult canine for Maple and Abi!
