About Wiltshire Army Cadet Force

Welcome to the official Facebook page for Wiltshire Army Cadet Force. The page keeps you in touch with what our cadets and volunteers are up to across the county and further afield.

Wiltshire Army Cadet Force Description

Joining the Army Cadets helps young people (and adult volunteers) to become more independent, confident and able to step up to any challenge.

We welcome cadets of all abilities and backgrounds and give them a wide range of fun, exciting and adventurous opportunities.

Our training programme gives young people a head start by helping them to develop valuable teamworking and leadership skills. We also give them access to recognised vocational qualifications from the Duke of Edinburgh's Awards Scheme to BTEC First Diplomas.

Wiltshire Army Cadet Force has detachments across the whole of the county, from Swindon in the north, to Downton in the South and many towns in between. Visit armycadets.com/wiltshireacf to find a detachment near you.

A great fundraising challenge by one of our cadets later this month! Seventeen year old Cadet Staff Sergeant Mae Allen of our Marlborough Detachment is competing in the 125 mile long Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race in just over a week from now (19-22 April).
Mae has been kayaking for three years, including taking part in national events and is putting this experience to good use by paddling to raise money for Help for Heroes.
Why not check out Mae's story ove...r on her JustGiving page and hopefully help her reach her target and leave her and her canoe partner some messages of support.

Who else was really hoping that this wasn't an April Fool's joke?

How many of you got excited about the new ration pack meals launched today? Hopefully you will agree that it was too good an April Fool's joke from Cadet Direct for us not to share.
But don't worry, there are still plenty of real tasty ration pack meals for our cadets to enjoy.

Is it too early to start thinking about this year's annual camp yet? Only four months to go...

Cadets from Westbury Detachment took part in the Remembrance Parade this morning, and I'm sure you'll all agree they look very smart. Why not share your photos from the parades and services today with us here.

Across the county, cadets and volunteers from Wiltshire ACF will be taking part in parades and services to mark Remembrance Sunday. Hopefully all our Facebook followers will join us in two minutes of silence at 11am to remember those who fell in WW1 and the conflicts that followed.

While taking part in the #ArmyCadet100 visits to the Somme last month, Wiltshire ACF too time out and worked with staff from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission to take part in a massive thank you at the Thiepval Memorial. Here's the result.

We have posted some more photosgraphs from the recent Cadet Armistice 100 visit to the Somme. Why not share your photographs and memories of the trip with us here too.

After a late evening meal after getting back to camp, our cadets are packing up their kit and most likely getting an early night after their trip. It will soon be lights out here, so thank you all for joining us on our journey to the Somme and back today, and goodnight from all the cadets and adult volunteers on the Cadet Armistice 100 visit team.

Docked at Dover and just waiting to drive off the ferry. It's been a long but memorable day, now it's just the short hop back to camp for a meal and some well earned sleep.
We hope you enjoyed the small selection of photographs from today almost as much as our cadets enjoyed the trip.
Keep a look out for more photographs being posted here and our @WiltsACF Instagram account over the next few weeks.

Over 850 Army Cadets gathered at the Thiepval Memorial to commemorate all who fell in the battle of the Somme. Our Wiltshire ACF cadets looked particularly smart today.

Any ideas what our cadets are doing?

Braving the cold and wind at Beaumont Hamel, our cadets are finding out about Newfoundland's contribution to the WW1.
