The Liz Lawrence Award, administered by WRM, is an annual award of ┬Ż1000 open to competition from promising young musicians about to embark on music studies at University or Conservatoire. To apply for this year's Liz Lawrence Award: Send in a letter of application which includes your name, address, email address, telephone number, date of birth, school attended, the university/college where a provisional place has been offered to you, your musical achievements, musical activities both in and out of school, planned use of the award if successful, and two separate music references (one from within school and one non-school). ŌĆŹClosing date for applications : Wednesday 5th June 2019, 5.00pm.
Applicants may be shortlisted and will be asked to attend an audition at our hub in Trowbridge, where they will be asked to play two contrasting pieces lasting up to ten minutes, and talk about how music impacts their lives. A question and answer session (from both sides) concludes the audition. We will be holding auditions later in June 2019 with the award presentation taking place on 19th July 2019.
