Great atmosphere and service! Great for football and great for food � cheap too !

Favourite place In Southampton for drinks and great for sport. It’s coming home

Brilliant atmosphere for the World Cup, with friendly staff there’s no where better to watch football coming home

This was the forth time I had eaten here and the food is normally good. I had scampi, chips and peas this time and the scampi and peas were ok but the chips were not the best. They looked like a very basic cheap frozen type. I go to other Greene King pubs and the chips are a lot better. I suppose that two dinners for £8.95 is about the right price for what I and my friend had.

If you don’t mind sticking to the floor, the carpet, the bar, and the tables then this is the place for you. Fawlty Towers style food service, which did add to the charm of the experience.

Spoilt a great derby day was forced to go to another pub which was mixed supporters not ideal it would have been safer & more enjoyable to be at Yates with the Bournemouth supporters

Foods horrible poor staff drinks are OK but I had a blue wkd and it was meant to be bye one get one 3 so after I realised I had to go back upto the bar to complain as they didn't give me my 3 one and said they did and when complained about did nothing about it. I won't be going back again until they get better staff and chefs who know how to cook better so many better places to go to in town.

You can count the number of reviews we have done on the fingers of one hand; however personal integrity dictated that we felt obliged. The well done steak was still breathing....more blood than meat. At 5-30pm on a Saturday they had no tonic so they gave me gin & soda water ( not to be recommended ). The 10oz Gammon that came with pineapple and an egg,was 4oz at best with both the pineapple and egg 'missing in action'#woeful

Went today for a birthday meal... Kids "chicken breast " came out as a slice of chopped up chicken, the grill food was disgusting and dirty, obviously the grill hasn't been cleaned in months, asked for large drinks and got small. But the thing that actually pissed me off was a lady asking for warm water to heat her babies food then a staff member walking over to her telling her she owes him £1 for the heated water! What the actual fuck! Disgusted to say the least. Definitely won't be returning here!

We ordered bbq chicken and bacon sub and a cold chicken breast came out with bacon and cheese, no sub. Asked to turn off the aircon (judge me but it is 14 celsius degrees outside....) TWICE but nothing happened. No return guaranteed. Not exactly how you imagine your chill saturday lunch....

We booked here for 2pm waited for 15minutes for the table � waited over an hour for the food when food arrived food was cold not cooked correctly complained to manager and she just didn't care at all wouldn't go here again �

Waited over an hour and a half for our food. Nachos and garlic bread came first then sub and fries and chicken wrap with fries. Had to wait an extra half hour for 2 portions of fries!!! Not impressed complained to waitress (not her fault) no feedback or offer of refund etc. Won't be going there again!!!!

Ordered: Bbq chicken, bacon and cheese sub woth potato fries with a diet coke.

I was forgotten about at the bar, the waiter served another person and left me stadning there; to which i had to ask another lady to get them.



The sub roll was burnt.



The sweet potato fries where covered in that much batter and must have been fried in the same oil as the battered fish has been in. This was overpowering to the point where i could not taste the sweet potato only a local 'chippy'. With this I had to leave them, only eating half of my meal.



I travelled some distance to eat here and i would happily not return.

I've been to lots of Yates and this one was the worst by far. Two people serving in the whole place. Couldn't have ice as someone had smashed a glass in the bucket. Was overcharged twice for exactly the same drinks by the same person
