it was a lovely girls day out for me and my friend, we were greeted by Karen the receptionist who was absolutely gem 💎 and showed us around and we had 4 treatments each back shoulder fasical and pedicure we will defo be going back again 💖

Second time here with mi daughter for her 18th didn't have afternoon the first time this time I did and it was beautiful alll fresh sandwiches there was just enough and the buns was beautiful aswell well worth it all staff was bang on so lovely and helpful x

My partner bought me a tea for 2 spa day for my birthday really enjoyed having full use of all your facilities very clean. Didnt feel like doing any classes but used the gym, the pool, sauna, steam room, deep relaxation room and the jaccuzi's. Afternoon tea was lovely! The sweedish back, neck and shoulder massage was fantastic and really enjoyed the facial. The spa ladies were very helpful and quick to accommodate my partners nut allergy for his treatments and acted quickly when he had a reaction during his facial wiping it quickly off! Very friendly staff throughout!

Would come again but i would avoid the weekend due to it being much quieter as there were children in the pool on our visit and the jaccuzi's were very busy with people staying in them for very long periods of time (not a problem though)

My friend and i have been here twice now and both love it, already looking at booking again.The spa facilities are lovely and the pool although our recent visit we encountered a very rude older gentlemen not sure if a regular or member but swam right ontop of me and kicked my friend instead of apologising he tried turning it into an argument asking where we had come from like he owned the pool, this aside still a very enjoyable day with two relaxing treatments also swedish back massage and facial. Also would recommend the cafe lovely food and refreshments.shall be booking again soon.

Just had a wonderful spa day at Bannatyne Barnsley. Both facilities and treatments were amazing! I saw an unfortunate incident between a customer and one of your staff members; just wanted to highlight that Judy Robinson dealt with this prat of a customer with nothing but professionalism and the utmost respect. I hope you recognise her positive and professional attitude as many others would have reacted differently to such an awful person. Judy; if you read this please do not fret; you are lovely and you made our day even more special. �

It was very busy .the staff friendly we had afternoon tea which was nice after our treatment which was back and face .so relaxing .i was very talkative so the girl and i had a natter about family ailments and things most people have in common yes all the facilities wrre good the steam room and sauna and relaxing room that smelt lovely of ucalipses. I could have gone to sleep in there .there is also an excercise class anyone who wishes in the pool .my daughter in law and i enjoyed the day thank you .

I purchased a Groupon and am always wary at the service/reception I will receive as I normally just pay the list price. However, we were very happy, felt that we were treated the same professional way and had a great experience. I haven’t been to Bannantynes for a while and thoroughly enjoyed the pool area and calming spa. The upstairs relaxation room is a great addition and I would definitely return.

I joined Bannatyne Barnsley just over a year ago and like with any new gym, I felt like the new girl at school! I'd been at my old gym for years and was sad to leave as I had made so many friends there, it was only due to relocation that I had to change gyms but just wanted to say I absolutely love it here! The staff are unbelievably friendly and upbeat, they inspire me to do better and I've met some lovely people who I see each week.. would highly recommend!

Had a lovely spa with my friend as a birthday treat. Enjoyed every minute and the treatments were lovely.We had a facial, shoulder and back massage, Leg and arm massage. felt totally relaxed and the enjoyed every minute. The pool, jacuzzi and steam rooms were lovely too., Thank you

Went for the day had a great day had a massarge and my nails done and a facial by a lovely lady who had black hair small build and was in her 30s very professional and lovely 😊 Unfortunately had a head massarge that lasted 6 minutes by other lady although liked head massarge will not have that done there again x

It was relaxing and enjoyable facial and swedish back massage was lovely we used sauna steam room jacuzzi and pool x staff were helpful tbe only thing was not enough private changing rooms x felt a bit embarrassed getting changed in front of people

Took my friend for her 60th birthday treat, was welcomed by a lovely receptionist who explained everything and showed us the ropes, loved the pool and surrounding rooms and hot tub, great cafe too with an extensive healthy menu and again lovely staff, but was very disappointed with the spa, booked a Swedish massage and facial, we had a dual room which was lovely and calming, our therapists began with the massage which was ok, then onto the facial where my therapist told me I'd be having another therapist taking over, so I waited and waited until after 5+ minutes she came in and started facial, my friends facial had already begun but I felt like mine was rushed to catch up!! Also the therapist wore gloves which felt weird, never had a facial with them wearing gloves before, it felt very I comfortable, my friends therapist didn't have them on, we both felt the facial was a let down, no exfoliating, infact not much to it really!! And it's not cheap!! In future will just use the facilities there's nicer cheaper beauticians out there to go to!!

My partner bought me this as a Valentine's gift and we had a lovely afternoon at this spa. Nice and clean facilities with large pool, 2 Jacuzzis and steam rooms, sauna and rest room.

However on arrival the receptions finished her conversation for 5 minutes before dealing with us. Towel, dressing gown and slippers come at a £5 charge which compared to other spas where they are usually free, is a bit steep. The voucher said 2 treatments for 2, which consisted of a neck shoulder and back massage followed by a head massage which consisted of 25 minutes. This is not 2 treatments in my eyes just 1, concentrating on 2 areas.

We went on a Sunday so was full of kids too. It's obviously a leisure center first and foremost with the added extra of a spa. Perfect for gym goers and members but not the best for people wanting a relaxing afternoon.

I have no idea how much this package cost so maybe I'm being a bit hasty. But compared to other spas I have been too (which is a few) this is not the best.

Lockers with a password as apposed to a key that you have to look after would be more suitable aswell.

My husband booked me & my friend in for a spa day for my birthday. The facilities were brilliant & had a good time. Slightly disappointed with the spa treatments. He booked us in for 4 treatments Swedish back massage facial eye brow wax & express pedicure (1 & 1/2 hr of treatments). However they were only about an 1 hr. they were 5 mins late then left u on couch for 5-10 mins while u rest. So only in treatment room just over 1 hr. which was disappointing when we were both meant to be an 1 & 1/2 hrs. Which my husband had paid for. Apart from that was a fab day. Good clean facilities. Reception staff very friendly.

To be fair, the facilities are good. BUT, I personally had an issue with the pool chemicals meaning that I could not use any of the swim or spa area without developing itchy skin and swollen mucus membranes (uncomfortable!). I cancelled of course but refuse to pay the cancellation month as I felt I had good grounds and could not use the facility as I wished. Bannatyne's clearly see things different and insist on the cancellation month being paid - in fact have now sold my debt on to a recovery agency! For a health club, they seem far more interested in my money than my health! I haven't had this chlorine sensitive in any other local pools.

The classes are good ...I loved Body combat and yoga however I'm really disappointed in the introduction of the new booking system for classes.



Having returned from travelling, i reinstated my membership and was not told any information of the revised booking system - To my shock i was turned away from class when the register was being taken and it being full. I live a 15-20 min drive away and also work freelance meaning my schedule changes week to week ...( I tried booking online and after setting it all up found that classes were full and i was unable to attend. When i did book and had to cancel at short notice because of work i was unable to change this online and eventually i received 3 strikes (...So I'm out!) I have not used my membership at all and feel that if i complain nothing will be changed. It just doesn't suit my lifestyle and worked perfectly well for me before. I feel paying members are being treated unfairly and i am really disappointed as i wasn't told of this change when i reinstated my membership.

Not even on par with my local leisure centre. Wasted good money on a "spa day". Particularly loved the screaming water aerobics instructor and music blasting in setting described as "blissful".

Booked a spa day for myself and daughter. Was very disappointed with the afternoon tea. The sandwiches were dry and was not asked the choice of sandwiches. The fruit scone was okay but I think was a bit miserly only being given one sachet of jam and one pot of clotted cream for the both of us. We both had booked 4 treatments. Although we were kept waiting for 10 minutes on arrival to go into treatment and then again another 10 minutes before treatment commenced, I cannot fault the back massage or the facial but we both were disappointed with the leg and foot massage and the arm and hand massage. Both myself and daughter have previously been to Tankersley Manor Spa and of the two spa's, Tankersley Manor is far superior. I don't think either of us will be going back again.
