Today (May 02) is Father Peter Needham’s last official day at Barnsley Hospital Trust after seven years. He will, however, hold two more Sunday worships in Barnsley Hospital Chapel on Sunday 5 May and Sunday 12 May. We are in the process of arranging cover for the Sunday services moving forward and until a replacement chaplain takes over. With regards to the other services held midweek, they will not be taking place until the new lead chaplain is appointed and starts work. ...The midweek services affected are: Monday 9.30am Mass Wednesday 1pm Mass Father Peter is moving to a new role at the nearby parish of Athersley and Carlton. We would like to extend our thanks to him for his service to patients and staff and send warm wishes for the future.

Happy early 80th birthday to the lovely Marjorie Wright on ward 19. Marjorie is not officially 80 until September but as she's very poorly, staff fixed up an early party.

There are lots of reasons why you might be more likely to develop Type 2 diabetes. If you’re at high risk you may be eligible for your Healthier You service, which will provide valuable support to help you put your health back in your hands and significantly reduce your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.
