Would you like to work in our team? We are recruiting Relief Learning Assistants to support our schools and family programme.
We are seeking to appoint a number of Relief Learning Assistants on an as when basis to support the delivery of our formal learning, family learning and community arts programmes across Barnsley Museums venues. We are seeking candidates who have experience of working with diverse audiences of all ages, with a particular focus on ...children and young people. You will be organised, enthusiastic and flexible with first class communication and interpersonal skills. Experience of working with Early Years is desirable, experience of delivering STEM sessions, and/or a background in delivering performance based workshops in character is also desirable.

We have a very special limited offer for your class to take part in a bespoke full day KS2 workshop at Experience Barnsley Museum, linked to our temporary exhibition ‘Life in Barnsley during World War Two’ between Monday 4th November – Friday 15th November 2019. Workshops will last for a full day and cost £8.99 per child.
As part of the workshop you will;
... · Make a local history study and learn about the lives of children living in Barnsley during WW2 · Explore the temporary exhibition and discover original objects and archives · Further your pupil’s understanding of an aspect of history beyond 1066 which is significant in their locality · Create your own fundraising campaign, design events and posters, to raise money for a chosen WW2 cause (Citizenship/SMSC) · Improve pupil’s mastery of art and design techniques, including drawing (Art and Design) · Pupils will think about the lives of people in other places and times (Citizenship/SMSC)

Book now for a NEW printmaking workshop for KS1 and KS2 Experience Barnsley: Museum & Discovery Centre running 9th-20th September 2019, linked to our Tins Tins Tins exhibition all about Barnsley Canister Company. The workshop lasts for a full day and each pupil will achieve Arts Award Discover. Pupils will be inspired by original artefacts and learn new printmaking skills to produce their own prints.

We still have spaces on our clay workshop at Elsecar Heritage Centre on Friday, come along and work with artist Sally Storr to create a clay tile to take home depicting your favourite part of this amazing place.
