We came across this fabulous place by chance on the first night of our week long holiday. The food is amazing, the staff so friendly and the prices are very reasonable. Little wonder we ate here every night! A must if you're in the area.

Sue and I love to go to the Blacksmiths after a walk in the fells.The atmosphere is great with a lovely log fire to warm up on,Staff are first class and traditional pub grub is fab..Always been the same for years!!

Had a really lovely meal today. Place was quite busy but the service was good and the food was excellent! Lots of choice on the menu and lovely helpful staff! We all thoroughly enjoyed it.

Always a warm welcome from all the girls into a quaint traditional pub with a roaring open fire and not many of them left to enjoy!

The service is efficient and attentive and the menu extensive.

Love the food here and return time and time again and have never been disappointed....😃👌🏻

Absolutely amazing wee hotel and village. The owners and staff at the hotel were all do welcoming and happy to help. The dinner and breakfast we had was outstanding too.

We came from Scotland for a surprise birthday party in Brampton and the owners and staff were happy to give us dinner a little earlier than they usually start dinners and when we got back the bar was still open so we could enjoy a wee nightcap.

Rooms were amazingly comfortable but for a paranormal buff there was no ghosts for me lol lol.

100% recommend this hotel and we will always be choosing this hotel for when we visit.

A great county pub with great ales and fantastic food. A great atmosphere created by the staff nothing to much trouble. Highly recommend a visit.

Lovely lunch always a sucker for a traditional pub brings back good memories of growing up in one lovely attentive staff x

Huge choice on the menu and everything was tasty. Staff were great. Friendly and attentive. The only negative would be that the interior looks a little dated although very clean and comfy.

lovely place, welcoming and homely, but rather disappointed with my food..... ordered the Camembert which was meant to be warm and served with crusty bread, was stone cold, the girl took it away for me but unfortunately it came back no warmer so just ate the bread. ordered a sun dried tomato and garlic pasta off the specials menu...was trying to be good as on a slimming plan, but wasnt expecting basically macaroni cheese with 2 bits of sun dried tomato, it was meant to be served with garlic bread and salad and i also asked for a half portion of chips, i didnt get my garlic bread and my half portion of chips was literally 5 frozen chips added together at a push.

Very nice place, has some real ale on tap. Big food menu but I must say that we have been a little disappointed with our food lately. The snacks and sandwiches are good but the bigger meals leave a bit to be desired.

Very disappointed with our service tonight. We were only ones in the restraint area. We were a table of 6. Two of which were children under the age of 4. So any one with young kids will know how hard it can be, keeping them entertain.

From our order been taken a little after 6.30. We were still sitting with our plates in front of us come 8pm,

My mother in law had to go and ask someone for the sweet & coffee menu. As we told the children they could have ice-cream if they were good. Which then took over 20 minutes to come.

So all in all I would not recommend the blacksmiths to anyone with children
