Tonight was a busy start to 2019. 13 of our recent new 1 stars where issued their uniform, after passing Basic training just before the Christmas break. Our 2, 3 stars and NCOs worked on giving parade commands.

This weekend was a busy weekend for all at the detachment, we spent the weekend with the rest of Arnhem Company at Warcop Training Camp, where we had cadets on all star levels.
The Basics was completing the last of their training and been trained on the new L144A1 Cadet Small Bore Target Rifle (CSBTR). 1 Stars was conducting Skill at Arms, Drill and Navigation testing.
The 2 Stars was out on the area conducting Training in Built Up Areas (TIBUA) and the 3 Stars was on first ...aid.

Today we paraded to remember those who gave their life for their country.
The day started with everyone arriving at the Detachment to spend the morning prepping their uniform and the basics under going lessons and assessments in Drill among other.
Then this afternoon was parade rehearsal and the the parade, later in the later afternoon which lead to a church service.
... All cadets where smartly turned out and done the Detachment proud.

Today 3 of our cadets along with 13 other cadets from Arnhem Company attended the 2nd company DofE Day to be held at Carlisle Castle.
8 new cadets to DofE held a session planning day to look at what the activities are for each section and what they can gain from the DofE.
The 2nd group of 8 cadets complete a navigation classroom based revision day and also learnt about how to identify hazards while route planning.
... This group will become hopefully the 1st expedition group to complete their qualifying expedition of 2019 from Arnhem.

Over the last 3 days, 6 of our cadets travelled down to Shorncliff Army Camp In Kent to take part in #armycadet100, where we meet up with over 900 other cadets and adult volunteers from around the UK.
The aim of this event is to commemorate the 100 years since the ending of World War 1.
We travelled to the Somme and spent the day going around the Battle area learning the story of The Battle of the Somme and the Thiepval memorial to the missing where we held a drum head serv...ice.

We have assembled with around 900 other cadets from around the Country to commentate the end of the Great War 100 years ago.
