Really enjoyed my night out with my old staff. Would like to thank them all for my card and generous gift. Hope to have another night in the not too distant future. Thanks for all their support. It's been a pleasure

What appauling news.!!!!!! Tonight the new owner of Charnock news has been robbed and attacked at 7.45pm. The masked robbers have trashed the newly refurbished shop and made off in a mini with false number plates. The new owner is trying to give Charnock a good local store and serve the community. If anyone hears or knows who is responsible please contact the police.

Well today is my last shift. After 30 years of loving being part of this community it's time to hand over. I would like to thank all the customers past and present a massive thank you for your support. To all the staff past and present it's been a pleasure to work with you. I couldn't have asked for such great people to work with and know. No doubt I will see some of you around. Hopefully I'm gonna have a bit of a rest to recharge my batteries. It's been a pleasure. Aplogises for anyone who hasn't received their morning paper. Unfortunately due to the severe weather conditions it has prevented me and the paper deliveres getting out. Hopefully you should get them sometime today. Please bare with us as a lot of the minor roads are still very treacherous under foot and by car. Geoff.

Apologies to the few home deliveries I haven't been able to get to due to the severe weather conditions but this was due to my van being out of action for a couple of days and needing a new battery.
