This weekend is the end of the school holidays here in Rotherham. Before the children go back to school there is still plenty to do in the Park and Museum. The free water splash is open daily (11am-5pm, weather permitting) until Sunday 2nd September. The splash will open again for the Rotherham Show weekend which is the 8th & 9th September. You can buy towels, sun cream and swim nappies in the kiosk as well as snacks, ice cream and drinks. You can also visit the Granary Cafe within the free Museum for a light lunch or a refreshing drink and a relaxing sit down. Parking is pay and display. For further information on all things Water Splash including how to hire this fantastic area you can contact us on 01709 254588. You can also visit our website www.cliftonpark.org.uk for further information.

We arrived early 10am no trouble parking. Our grandson age 2.5 yrs went straight to the sand pit and had a great time. Then we went onto the rides, very excited little boy loved the caneo ride. We had a lovely picnic on the grass area in the sunshine. Then the water park next - wow wow wee he couldn't wait to get in.... he had a fabulous time running in and out of the water. To finish the day off, ice cream time. We really enjoyed our time at Clifford Park and will be returning soon. The only problem was the toilets, only 2 working in the afternoon with 100s of people in the park. See you all soon!!

Visited Clifton Park and museum today. I used to go a lot when younger and my last visit was 6 years or so ago. I was really pleased with the displays in the museum, new and old.I'd heard about the Ghost/Unicorn and didn't think much of it.. but as soon as you arrive at the entrance you see it through the doorway and it was pretty amazing. The park looks better than i ever remembered it. I recommend visiting if you're in Rotherham either visiting.. or if you have not been up in a while.

Such a good value day out! Easy to get to from the M1, lots of things for both my 4 & 7 year old to do, cheap rides (we had paid £2 per child per ride the day before at a local festival!). We took a picnic so I spent less than £20 on parking, ice creams & rides. The kids went on 6 rides each & were happy with that, they went in all the parks, in the splash area & enjoyed playing in the rock garden. Lots of open space for a football or frisbee. Will hopefully be back in the summer holidays.

Hiya we visited the park today around 5pm. We was sat having a picnic when my youngest daughter started to have an epilepsy seizure. Luckily enough there was an ambulance parked on the hill who helped me deal with my daughter. In the mean time 3 male member of your staff assisted my husband in keeping my old 3 children entertained and gave them all an ice cream. Me and my husband are extremely over whelmed by the support from your 3 members of staff and I can't thank them enough. We will definitely be returning and makes me feel at ease in bringing my youngest daughter knowing you have staff as helpful as them so thank you. Xx

We visited earlier this month for the first time, attending the Tues toddler splash session.

It's a wonderful space, the park is beautiful too. Play areas are lots of fun.

The only thing I was disappointed & quite surprised by was the level of cleanliness in & around the splash park. There was quite a bit of litter. For example there were some pringles tubes floating in the water. & someone had discarded a used nappy on the side of one of the pools. Which I threw in the bin myself after I saw another toddler pick it up & carry it to the other side of the pool. Where her mother shouted at her to drop it... which she did, right next to the water.

These are just a couple of examples. There were other items strewn around & unfortunately the toilets weren't overly inviting either.

Anyway, I appreciate it gets busy & there are plenty of rubbish bins around. But some folk are irresponsible when it comes to cleaning up after themselves & being considerate of others. Maybe having staff patrol the area on rubbish collection more regularly through the day would be worth considering?

Many thanks

A visit to Clifton Park is a wonderful way to spend the day with children. There is plenty to see and do, without having to spend a small fortune, as so often seems to be the case for most days out. We took a picnic and had a lovely day, playing in the parks play areas, a visit to the museum and then an hour splashing around in the water area. It was lovely to see the splash area being cleaned before allowing visitors in. We will definitely come again.

I love the park, the splash and the play areas are fantastic. How ever.. when I last visited on the 14th July there was an issue with the payment meters in the main parking area. Only one meter was working. As we arrived early this was not a problem but when we left there were approximately 30 people queuing to pay. Bearing in mind that most of these people had young children and babies with them and were standing in the full sun.

When I visited yesterday there was still only one meter working and a queue of about 20 people waiting to pay. I was not prepared to join the queue with 2 children under 5 so I went elsewhere to park.

This is not good enough.the problem should have been resolved by now. And if it can’t be resolved quickly the park should make parking free till it is..... rant over.

We came yesterday to the splash park. We loved the park however we went to the cafe for some lunch afterwards, there were no gluten free options available (despite having a sign saying to let staff know of dietary requirements) other than a jacket potato which was disappointing. We got my little girl a lunch which cost nearly £5 included a half a sandwich and tiny homemade bun, small juice box and crisps. The only crisps they had were spicy so I asked to if I could change and I had to buy another bag which were also spicy and my little girl didn’t didn’t like them. I overheard the staff shout to each other “we used to do quavers but they got too expensive to put in the box” I thought this was a bit of a ridiculous excuse the box wasn’t exactly cheap! Why would there only be spicy crisps in children’s lunch boxes anyway? The cafe was also full of flies buzzing around my daughter why she was trying to eat. I wouldn’t recommend eating here!
