Dogs Unleashed on Bakewell showground is our venue for this Saturday 22nd June and Sunday 23rd June. I will be there with the team taking Dog Portraits in our Studio Tent. Free Sitting, no obligation to buy and at £15 for a dog studio portrait, that's got to be a bargain. The Show is a great day out if you like anything Doggy, and for a change, weather wise, its given a good weekend with the weather. Here are some samples our past shows as to what can be achieved with no electricity in the middle of a field

Sunday 26th May, is High Moor Open Shows first event of 2019. We will be attending all their shows again this year and printing photos onsite from the van. For those that do already not know, we have retained all af last years High Moor shows photos for 2018 [and Eckington show] which can be viewed and purchased on the van. To start off the season, I have put together some of our photos taken at High Moor, showing the type of photos we take at this event.

This Wednesday night, I covered a shoot for the Asbestosis Support Group at the Spire Church Chesterfield. I get great pleasure from supporting this charity with my photography, as they are all really very nice people to work with. The job in question, was to photograph the side of the church, which was to have the names of 120 plus names, projected onto the walls during darkness. Photography wise it was a bit of a challenge, working with very low light and getting the results, with over 100 people milling about. Its a bit like bonfire night and trying to photograph a wedding. Here are a couple of shots, one a PR shot of the Church and the other a sample of the doorway shots, one of 140 or so taken on the night, all with the individuals name above the doorway.

The Young Farmers Christmas Ball 2018, was held at the newly refurbished Pavillion Gardens Buxton. This was a last minute booking for us, and the last big booked event for the season.
We've never done this event before, but our brief was that 650 plus attending, doors open at 8 pm, but most of the punters will not arrive till 10pm - oh yes and it finishes by 1am, and we have 10 Security Staff on hand to supervise The ages attending would be 16 to 35yrs
My anticipation of ...the night of big strapping young farming lads and lasses, all of who have had a few drinks pre the event, and all arriving at 10 pm, maybe a bit worse for ware, and a bit of a handful on the night.
Well how wrong I was, as black tie was optional and the gals wore some very stunning dresses. What a delightful group they were to photograph, and some of the best behaved people we have dealt with over the years. Despite the large numbers at the venue, they were all very respectful, and a credit to the Young Farmers Organisation, to which they all belong.
Big events like this do need some organising so my thanks goes out to my team, Pete, Linda, Neil and Mike who kept the workflow moving through the night without a hitch, and to the organisers Paul from the Pav management, and Emma and Charlotte the organisers, whose pre planning made the night run smoothly.
Here are a few pics of the night,

Im thinking of introducing this new product for next years shows.
It is a mock canvas, a photo attached to a box, giving the impression of a block canvas when hanging on a wall and It comes with its own stylish custom made travel case
The two sizes Im thinking of offering are a 12"x10" [ The horse portrait] which will cost £40 and a 20"x16" [The jumping pic] for £60, this includes delivery to your home.

In keeping with Halloween, here are some photos we have taken at past events. The little girls photo, taken with the aid of a green screen background. The adults was at a sponsored charity event where everybody came in some rather good creepy costumes.

As some may know we send in several photos from each of the horse shows we cover, to the Midland Horse Magazine. The other day received a phone call from the Assistant Editor, Amanda, to say I had won a bag of Top Spec Horse feed - me a man with with no horse !! she said, " well just give it to anybody with a horse" - but surprise surprise, they wanted a photo with the product.
Well here it is a shot I took, with the surprised winner !! holding up in one han...d a large bag of feed and in her other hand her horse [ In truth it was on a stand just out of picture]. Well done Lizzie Hill and her horse Eddie for taking part in this venture.
For the techies among you I used an off camera Pixapro 1600 battery operated Studio Flash with a softbox to create this shot, and a little tweaking in lightroom..

The High Peak Pony Club held their 2018 event this year at Newhaven Farm Nr Buxton. The is a full week of training with instructors for the members in the art of horsemanship and looking after horses and ponies. I attended with the team on the Wednesday and Thursday which was the presentation night. We took with us a small lighting studio and the photo van where we are able to print onsite and run the studio without electricity. Here are some of the images to give you a bit of an insight as to what went on over the week. Other photos can be found our website www.derbyshirephoto.co.uk on the the buy online secton

These are the latest photos that have been sent to The Midland Horse Magazine for the High Moor Show 5th August 2018 for consideration in their September Issue. Most of these photos have been purchased, while some have not. I like to think we are producing excellent photos for the show, many of which are never seen by the riders. I have no doubt that now they are in the public domain, we will get people passing them around all over the net and liking them, all I can say for ...those who haven't purchased the photo, they are still for sale on the van. Also I am looking very closely at the support we are getting from certain rings at the show, as we try to give full coverage where possible. If rings do not support us then they will be dropped, with preference for another ring, I refer to Ring 4 Jumping Ring in preference for the Working Hunter Ring, which we rarely cover. I now feel it would benefit with a full time photographer covering it. We would then only cover just a couple of selected jumping classes in ring 4, instead of being there all day. Let me know your thoughts at the next show.
