About Dove And Rainbow

"We're one of those places where, even though you arrive a stranger, you leave as a regular. "

Dove And Rainbow Description

We are a friendly rock, live music and real ale venue tucked away in Hartshead Square.

During the day, we don't have big screen TVs showing sports, just a jukebox which puts you in control of the music. At night times, we don't have balearic music blasted out by a faceless DJ you can't talk to, we have friendly DJs playing everything from blues and classic rock, to punk and goth, even making stop-offs at metal and progressive. Best of all, our DJs are mega request-friendly.

This Thursday, we have some more live music for you :-)

User

Thank you so much to everyone involved in last night's Black Sails gig at the Dove, raising money for the Sophie Lancaster Foundation, which was organised by our very own Alice! And of course everyone who came out for a few bevvies...
We'll leave the collection bucket and merch available on the bar for the next week or so for anyone who wanted to contribute but was unable to come down on the night.

User

Look what's going on shortly, from Robinsons Brewery (the makers of the ever popular Trooper)

Tonight at the Dove!

User

So, remember Shock Hazzard? Well sadly they are no more but they are all in new bands & the first to appear on our stage is a last minute gig next thursday! Jake Haydn's new band, Glitchers will be here for an hour or so. They're doing a big tour & have a night off near us so asked if they could play! & why not? Nice & talented guys! Come & show your support!

User

The Wildhearts are playing at Plug on Friday, so where better to start and finish your night than a few bevvies at the Dove!

User

Remember the sword dancers we had in a while ago on a Saturday afternoon? Steel City Rapper will be back in on Wednesday night for a drink or 2, and a bit of a dance :-)

User

It's the Film and Comic Con at the Arena, and we know some of you lot might be going!
The Dove is open, as always, from 2.30 pm on both the Saturday and Sunday, so why not call in for a drink or 3 on your way home?
Free shot for fancy dress (when you buy a drink)

Only a week to go until Black Sails hit our stage again, raising funds for the Sophie Lancaster Foundation. You don't want to miss this one! :-)

User

It's HRH at the O2 again, and the Dove will be open from 12 noon on all 3 days, for your drinking pleasure. As always, we'll be open later than usual too, definitely beyond when the event closes, and after that it's up to you (within reason, and the terms of our licence!)
A proper Rock Pub, with juke box during the day and DJs Jason and Lucy respectively on Friday and Saturday nights.
If you're out all day and need something more substantial than just liquid refreshment, you ...are welcome to bring food in with you, or we can supply you with a tasty Pot noodle!
We look forward to seeing you lovely bunch again soon :-)

It's Friday, payday for some, and guess what - they've forecast thunderstorms!
It's what you've all been asking for, for weeks (both payday and a break in the weather!) so don't let a bit of water coming out of the sky put you off coming out to town!
Church House is currently closed for it's refurb, so if that's your usual weekend haunt, why not be a bit adventurous and go for a bit of a wander tonight and tomorrow - there are other pubs available (and not just on xmas eve!), although some of you might have forgotten...

User

It may be warm outside, but we've got some nice cold beers and ciders and other beverages to cool you down.
Our buy 10 get 1 free cask ale collector card offer continues tonight and a week on Saturday we have the awesome Black Sails playing for our Charity Fundraiser for the Sophie Lancaster Foundation

User

Tramlines / Pramlines is over for another year, with all the usual thanks to all the bands who played, the customers who drank, the ents team who made the noise happen and the bar staff who kept you supplied with tasty cold beverages, and of course Keith for making it all happen here at the Dove .
This year extra "special" thanks goes to Sheffield City Council for destroying what used to be a free Inner City Music Festival, designed to boost trade at a quiet time of year and to Supertram strikes for stopping people from even getting to town!
Oh well, the show goes on, and the next show here is the awesome Black Sails in 2 weeks time on Saturday night, raising funds for the Sophie Lancaster Foundation

Went to Sheffield for my hen do to kill some zombies, ended up in here after. Had a brilliant night and all the staff were lovely, some really good ale as well!

User

Popped in at the weekend while at HRH Blues and loved it, decent beer, good prices and atmosphere too.

User

Popped in after a job interview in the middle of the afternoon. Had a friendly buzz with what i expect are the regulars. Good beer (Tempest) served in a glass tankard no less. If I am back in Sheffield again doubtless pop in again

User

One of the friendliest and safest pubs in Sheffield. I often pop in for a pint whilst waiting for the bus home & if I lived a little closer I'd be a regular .

User

Old school rock pub..... Nothing flash.... Nothing of pretence.... Blonde which ale is a must.... We was only coming in for one pint.... Stayed for a lot longer.... In fact would of stayed just in this pub we was that taken too it. The heavy metal gods will be pleased with this drinking establishment indeed.

User

Nice atmosphere, juke box and pool table.spent an enjoyable couple of hours here

User

My home away from home away from home during the past week. Definitely my favorite pub in town and even learned a bit about snooker. Cheers to all the staff for making me feel welcome

User

Me and my mate Paul found this place on our way to a Kim Wilde concert and what a find it is very friendly like it says and full of metal heads like us with a banging duke box I can’t wait to come back definitely recommend it

User

Literally my favourite bar in Sheffield. Pool and great music with real ale thrown in. Who could ask for more?

User

Its a Grate place to be at have Good drinks

User

It's like my third home in Sheffield behind my flat and Corp, always love it here

User

It is my home away from home, reminds me of my favourite pub in Wigan "The Tudor" no townies, trendies, hipsters etc!

User

I love this pub!! The bar staff are friendly, great selection of real ales and ciders on tap. Friendly atmosphere. Would highly recommend!!

User

I always try to get a drink in here whenever I'm in Sheffield. Decent drinks, friendly staff and great music

User

Great selection of real ales. Good sounds on the jukebox

A real rock pub. Out the back of spoons. Total contrast. If you like your music hard and your ale real it's the "go to" place in Sheffield

User

Great pub! Brilliant friendly staff, need more like this! Can't wait to come back x

User

Great place! Spent most of the time in here during HRH Sleaze, great jukebox, friendly people and cheap vodka! Coming back for HRH stoner so no doubt we'll be spending most of the weekend here.

User

Found this place back in October, had an absolutely brilliant time, great beer, great music brilliant staff! Always make a point of coming here whenever in in town.

User

Dove & rainbow is the main reason we travel to Sheffield for a afternoon out top , with great staff love it !!

User

Decent beer. Nice staff. Very welcoming pub. Dj plays almost any request.

User

Been a long time since I've been to the D&R, but if it's even half the pub it was two years ago then it has to be the best pub in Sheffield by miles. Friendly, welcoming and a beer fridge on stage for bands. Heaven!

User

An increasingly rare thing, a proper friendly rock pub. Good music, good beer, good barstaff, pinball and pool, relaxation heaven.

User

Absolutely feckin fabulous! A true Rock pub that made us very welcome xx

User

Visited there twice over the HRH Blues event this weekend.....didn't try any beer, but tanned a LOT of Kraken! Bar staff cool, music not too bad, nice crowd

User

Very nostalgic of the old rock pubs of Birmingham, loved it, would come back again.

User

Proper old school rock pub. Nothing flash about it but if that is what you want then you are in the wrong place. Great beer and great music. The only problem was that I visited in an afternoon. Need to come here when the bands are on!

User

Lovely rock pub. Shame it closes so early though. We go there while attending HRH events in the city. Drinks are cheap, staff are great and the jukebox is awesome as are the DJ'S. I'd give an extra star if it opened later

User

Fucking loved it, went to the corporation after and wished we'd stayed in the dove,

User

First time drinking in Sheffield and saw this pub whilst sat in Wetherspoons. Great atmosphere and good music!!

User

Well what can I say? A bit rough and ready, very quiet on a Monday night, free pool, great music if you a fan of rock and heavy metal. Pin ball machines, fruit machine and retro arcade games are there as well. The toilet is covered with graffiti and the place feels a little run down, nice selection of beer at reasonable prices

User

Might be just the night but the beer was terrible. . The company was fun and the staff were great... I wouldn't say avoid but I just can't say you must go. Oh music was great as well.

User

Luv the music. Drinks not bad but a little unfriendly behind the bar. And toilets in need of major revamp
