We would like to say a very BIG THANK YOU to everyone who donated socks in 2019. They were taken, and gratefully received over the Christmas period by Sheffield cathedral archer project. On the 28th December our podiatrist Emma volunteered with the homeless & roofless at Christmas non profit charity, providing foot care to the vulnerable and homeless community in Sheffield. Everyone was very grateful for the treatment that they received; and even more so for their new socks πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘£
So once again a massive thank you for all of your kind donations.

AUTUMN FEET. Autumn is here and your feet will now be hidden away in socks and shoes/boots for the next several months. But now is not the time to take a break from your regular foot care routine!! Autumn is an important time to focus on getting our feet back into tip-top condition after a summer of flip flops, dehydrated skin & nails. How to care for your feet in autumn ....... * apply regular moisturising lotion to feet. * take a nail polish break... * exfoliate feet using a foot file regularly * choose the right footwear. Have your feet measured, and consider the appropriate type for your activity πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘£

EVERYONE DESERVES WARM FEET.
Over the past 2 years we have collected a total of 7 large bin bags full of socks which we have donated to homeless charities during the winter months, thanks to the kind donations from our friends and patients of Greencross Podiatry Clinic.
This year our Podiatrist Emma will be volunteering with the charity HOMELESS & ROOTLESS AT CHRISTMAS in Sheffield treating the vulnerable, and those in need over the Christmas period. She is also hoping to pro...vide one of the much requested clothing items ..... SOCKS to all who access the shelter this winter.
If you would like to donate new or used (clean & paired) socks, please bring them along to your next appointment, or drop them into Greencross Pharmacy (where our clinic is based)

Dry skin can appear on your feet due to dehydration or lack or moisture. When stripped of moisture the dry skin may start to crack. If left untreated, cracked heels can become painful and develop infections. At Greencross Podiatry clinic we can help with this. BABY’S FEET πŸ‘ΆπŸ»πŸ‘£ It’s recommended to measure your baby’s feet regularly to make sure you’re buying the right shoes for the right stage; ensuring baby has the correct support for their development. Daily care should include washing & drying their feet, whilst toenails should be trimmed regularly. Choosing socks made from natural fibres will help to keep their little feet cool.

CHILDREN’S FOOTWEAR. Our feet experience up to 7 stages of walking development. To aid healthy foot growth and to walk correctly, our shoes need to fit precisely. Baby’s feet grow, on average, 3 sizes in their first year; 2 sizes until they start school; and 1 size until they’re in their teens. Every child is however different, so it’s important to get their shoes checked, and feet measured regularly by trained fitters πŸ‘ΆπŸ»πŸ‘¦πŸΌπŸ‘£
