Hillsborough Park Walled Garden

It's been a few weeks since the first of the beds were renovated by Richmond Environmental who knocked of the decayed top layer and re-bricked all round. It looks great. Just a few more beds to go then.....

Feel a bit guilty today. We left 3 of our volunteer group working in the Walled Garden while 9 of us went plant buying at Hampsons Plantworld. And guess what? The Red Kite was next door...and it was lunchtime. It's not all hard work, you know. (Well, for 9 of us anyway) :-)

With all those things to do - you will need some fairy dust to boost the energy levels by the time you get to Hillsborough Park Walled Garden :-)

Glad you enjoy it. If the weather holds there will be some work done to renew some of the brickwork on the beds this week. And we are off plant hunting next week - so it is still busy over the winter months.

And should be open tomorrow....

Fruit and Veg fun today in Hillsborough Park Walled Garden

I think some of these may not be in the Walled Garden. :-)

We have a new banner, one of those pull up jobbies. Ann, (http://annbeedham.com/) who designed and got it for us, also reconfigured the artwork to fit on an A5 leaflet. Excellent - so we now have had 1000 of them printed...

A big thanks to whover decided to scale the back wall, kick in the shed doors, scatter some tools, knock over the fountain, trash a few of the dahlias and cut through the fountain pump cable. WHY?

We are having a Plant Sale on Saturday 30th June from 10am. Plants from 50p.

Anyone fancy some weeding?

Looks like someone was watering (the hose pipe was out) - which is good. :-)

Oh no! - 2 more.....OK, it's nice to have goslings but that definitely takes us to over 50 Canada Geese. Maybe they will go onto the Don for a while during Tramlines? But let's hope we get some cygnets again this year.
