Hi Ideal followers, its #wisdomwednesday and today we’re talking about tooth eruption (teeth coming through) and exfoliation (teeth coming out).
Many parents out there have concerns that their children’s teeth are coming through incorrectly, like the image shown. This is perfectly normal and we see it every day!
Permanent (primary) teeth start to erupt around the age of 6, 7 & 8, and usually the baby (deciduous) teeth are pushed out by the new adult tooth.
... Sometimes, they hang on in there! Don’t worry! We can help! The majority of the time baby teeth will eventually wobble out themselves. If they don’t, we can give them some ‘gentle encouragement’.
If you are concerned about your child’s teeth and would like some reassurance or professional advice - come and see us! That’s what we are here for!

It’s #wisdomwednesday and Oral Health Month so today’s topic has been provided by The Oral Health Foundation https://www.dentalhealth.org a great source of information for patients on all topics related to oral health care. Check it out!
Today we’re looking at Bad Breath 😕
... What causes bad breath?
Bad breath is a very common problem and there are many different causes. Persistent bad breath is usually caused by the smelly gases released by the bacteria that coat your teeth, gums and tongue. Also, bits of food that get caught between the teeth and on the tongue, will stagnate and can sometimes cause an unpleasant smell. Strong foods like garlic, coffee and onions can add to the problem. So, it is very important to brush your teeth correctly and regularly. This will help keep your breath smelling fresh.
The bacteria on our teeth and gums (called ‘plaque') also cause gum disease and tooth decay. One of the warning signs of gum disease is that you always have bad breath or a bad taste in your mouth. Again, your dental team will be able to see and treat the problem during your regular check-ups. The earlier the problems are found, the more effective the treatment will be.

It’s #Wisdom Wednesday everyone and today we’re talking Wisdom Teeth.
When there’s very little space for your wisdom tooth to come through (erupt) you can get symptoms of...
😢Ear Ache... 😢Pain and difficulty opening your mouth 😢Swollen gums around the area of eruption 😢Bad breath 😢Bad taste in your mouth 😢Swollen glands
Seek your dentists help! We may be able to advise you how to clean the area better, how to manage any pain, or even (after thorough diagnosis) arrange to take it out if necessary. Most of the time wisdom teeth come through fine and with no problems, but your dentist can advise you what’s best.

It’s #wisdomwednesday and today we’re looking at Periodontal (gum) disease.
Did you know?? Most adults in the UK have gum disease to some degree and most people experience it at least once. It's much less common in children. If you have gum disease, your gums may bleed when you brush your teeth and you may have bad breath. This early stage of gum disease is known as gingivitis.
... If gingivitis isn't treated, a condition called periodontitis can develop. This affects more tissues that support teeth and hold them in place.
If periodontitis isn't treated, the bone in your jaw may be damaged and small spaces can open up between the gum and teeth. Your teeth can become loose and may eventually fall out! (Source:www.nhs.uk)

Did you know???
Smoking can mask gum disease.....You may have gum disease and not even know it!
Why??? Smoking constricts the blood vessels in your gums, reducing bleeding that naturally occurs during inflammation.
... You may find if you stop smoking, after a period of time your gums may start to bleed when you brush.
Getting your gums checked by a dental professional will give you a picture of your gum health status, and all the tools you need such as oral health advice and specific gum therapy treatments, to get you back on track.
Don’t leave it till you have a wobbly tooth. Your gums are the foundations to your teeth, prevention is key.
Book your gum health check today!!
