ONLY FOR VICTIMS OF TRAFFICKING
The government has today announced a repayment scheme for potential victims of modern slavery who received asylum support in England and Wales between 1 March and 8 November 2018.
Details of the scheme can found here.
... People who are currently receiving support through the asylum system will receive a letter from the Home Office setting out how much they are entitled to and when they will be paid. Those who are no longer receiving support can apply for a back payment using a short application form.
We are particularly keen for this information to reach those who are no longer receiving asylum support so we would be grateful if you could share this information widely through your networks and alert any potentially eligible individuals you are in contact with.
If you have any queries regarding this scheme, please contact VCCenquiries@homeoffice.gov.uk

EU settled status application scheme video walk-through
The EU Settlement Scheme is now open for business. Almost all European Union citizens living in the UK who wish to stay here after Brexit must apply to it over the next couple of years.
Check Out the link below.

The Home Office refused a case based on Article 8. The Tribunal recognised that the children had made a life for themselves in the UK and to uproot them would result in a breach. The Tribunal allowed the appeal under Article 8.
It has taken 5 years to get to this stage for the family. The family are so grateful for the result.
A great shout out to Craig Holmes at Kenworthys Chambers too. Well done Craig.

The EU Settlement Scheme, which opens today (21 January), is designed by the government to grant post-Brexit residency to EU citizens and their family members, who will have until 30 June 2021 to apply.

User

The EU Settlement Scheme pilot is now closed.
Applications for the scheme will reopen on 21 January 2019. If you are part of the way through your application, you can finish it when the service reopens.
The scheme will open fully by 30 March 2019.

Just met two clients in Bradford whilst shopping. Both received Refugee Status. One of them is working in the shop in the plaza opposite the Immigration Tribunal in Bradford.
Those that say that Refugees are only here to claim benefits or are a drain on society. It’s now 7.52pm and he is still working. How many British people would you say are doing the same on a Saturday night.
... Maybe it is time for the Home Office to allow asylum seekers the chance to work until their claims are concluded. Lengthy delays in the UK Asylum system is not fair.

In the case of R (SM & Ors) v Secretary of State for the Home Department (Dublin Regulation – Italy) [2018] UKUT 429 (IAC) the Tribunal has concluded that particularly vulnerable asylum seekers face breaches of Article 3 if returned to Italy to have their asylum claims processed under the Dublin Regulation.

*** Immigration Health Surcharge ('IHS') to DOUBLE on 9 January 2019***
If you are thinking of applying for your spouse to enter the UK or make an extension application the controversial DOUBLING of the IHS is to come into force on 9 January 2019. This means you will have to pay an extra £600 for a spouse visa and £500 for an extension.
The Government's rationale is:... "... that migrants make a fairer contribution to their average annual cost to the NHS....
.... In England, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) estimates that the NHS spends £470 on average per person per year in respect of charge-payers. The Secretary of State has also considered other matters, such as the need to ensure the UK remains competitive as a place for skilled workers and international students to come. Doubling the amount of the charge better reflects the costs to the NHS of treating those who pay it, thereby ensuring affected migrants make a fair contribution, below cost recovery level..."

I'd like to highly recommend Legal Justice Solicitors for Asylum & immigration.

Personally I was waiting long time and also I've had some solicitors - I didn't have any good experience with them. I mean, I just waste time and money, they can not helped me at all.

It was such a nice day when someone recommended Legal Justice Solicitors to me.

I found it reliable company and fortunately they accept my cause.

Now I've got my refugee status, just let me say thanks all of your hard works.

User

I will say they are competent to represent you at the high standard client care.

I had an extremely unique and difficult case. Took it to another law firm and they could not have dealt with it. I was recommended to Legal Justice Solicitors and with no regrets I'm thankful. My case became personal to them they showed empathy and communicated frequently, which showed they had my interest at heart.

I developed trust in the solicitors assigned to my case. They were always open and honest. Im happy to say that with their dedication and resilience I've won the case. Thank you Legal Justice Solicitors..
