Born this day in 1945 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, he is affectionately known as Van The Man by his friends and fans alike. An iconic figure in the world of music and entertainment he was given his first guitar at the age of eleven and by the time he was twelve he had formed his first band called The Sputniks For a lifetime of dedication to the music industry as a singer, songwriter and musician he was knighted by Prince Charles in February 2016. Wonderful place to frequent nice music. It plays music I can actually tolerate. Although I find town intimidating I'll definitely be coming again. The security officials patrolling the door ensure this is a safe place to be and there is no nastiness going on inside. It was the first time I've visited but I can say it won't be the last..

What a great place great music and DJ Gary is brilliant . We popped in for one while out on a hen do and ended up staying all night plus we got to met Danny miller . Definitely going back again soon

What a cracking pub good atmosphere great music to dance to and friendly staff we will certainly visit again this year and more often now we have had a taste of northern soul ,also it was so easy to find once we got off the train

Was in there last night about 18 of us most 50 plus had a right good night.

I presented the show there yesterday and found the customers and staff amazing. Been a dj since 1974 so the music was a pleasure to play. Lovely sound system and lights. Great place.

I have just celebrated my birthday at Maggie Mays and had a fabulous time!! I reserved the VIP section in The Lennon Lounge and we were looked after by the staff very well!! It was great to see Gary Sinclair. Brilliant music, amazing company, great atmosphere, wonderful venue what more can one ask? � xxx

I have been to Maggie mays a few times I am only 28 but the music is right up my street I love northern soul and Motown music so this is one of my favourite places to go, no drama no idiots just pure music and good drink lovers! I’m taking my fella here Saturday! Gary is an amazing dj! �

A brilliant end to the night; the door staff were friendly, the bar staff quick and the general atmosphere was both welcoming and fun x

I was there on the last night having a great night when I was outside having a smoke,when a bloke was angry for being refused entry he started to get aggressive towards door staff. They handled the situation professionally and efficiently with little nuisance,I will be happy to return knowing that the doorstaff are polite and professional

Great music BUT on a December Saturday before Christmas run out of Guinness and Vodka by 8pm, never reyt!

Utter shite playing the shit 80's Disco/nightclub music I hated in the 80's... went because I was dragged in by friends.

I've been in a few times and dislike the place, but my mum and dad like it so go in quite abit until this afternoon when they got short changed and then got fobbed off and basically robbed by the bar staff when they confronted them about it!! Disgusting if thats how you make your money discraceful
