#Badger update - she is doing really well, putting on 400g in a week. She will be with us for another week to make sure she is 100% and then she will be off to join other orphan badgers - and prepared for release as an adult. On a side note this is how she greeted us this morning at feeding time - arguably the cutest picture ever!!

Buzz Sheffield the human charity that we support, have organised a fundraising anniversary party- this is set to be a great night (and families are welcome) with lots of different activities going on. Tickets can be purchased in advance via the link on the poster. This is a great charity that help vulnerable people throughout #sheffield so if you can spread the word about this event it would really help. #Sheffieldissuper

On Thursday evening staff had a call about a small badger that had been seen laying next to a path in the peaks. The finders had seen it and kept their distance for 2 hours to see if mum was around but unfortunately she never appeared. At this point they contacted us and asked if staff could help. The little female was in a bad way and had clearly been alone for a long period. Cold and very dehydrated staff spent the night caring for her. Thankfully she is slowly making a recovery thanks to the commitment of our staff and Broomhill Veterinary Practice . As soon as she is back to full strength she will be sent to a large rescue centre where she can join other badgers before being released back into the wild as an adult.

On Saturday we collected these two ladies from Phoenix Hen Rescue UK to join our 3 girls. They have had a rough start (as caged hens) but thanks to amazing efforts of the Phoenix team and some TLC from our animal keepers they will soon be fully feathered and enjoying the outside world πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“ If you can support Phoenix Hen Rescue in any way please contact them via their Facebook page. #rescuehens
