About Nether Edge Farmers' Market

The Nether Edge Farmers' Market runs four times a year on Nether Edge and Glen Roads. Each market hosts approximately 80 stalls selling quality local food, crafts, arts and supports local beneficiaries. A great community event.

Nether Edge Farmers' Market Description

Members of the Nether Edge Neighbourhood group host and organise this local
quarterly market. It is organised entirely by a small group of local residents in Nether Edge, Sheffield. It is usually held in the months of March, June, September and
December each year. Each market brings together over 80 local businesses and
enterprises selling crafts, home grown and cooked foods and hand made goods.
Often a live entertainment programme is provided including multicultural dance,
music and theatre. The aim of the event is to provide a forum whereby the local
community is able to celebrate and indulge in what's good about the
neighbourhood. We work closely with the Nether Edge Bowling club, and frequesntly have use of their bowling green, often
including children's activities, demonstrations and workshops. On a nice day, the green is a lovely place for you and others to sit and catch up with friends and family.

All proceeds from the stall hire is donated to local charities. To date we have raised over £26, 000 for
local charities in Sheffield.

Please come along and support this local event. Spread the word.

What a day! Well, despite all the odds against the snowy elements, we managed it. It was looking doubtful this morning and thanks to the support of local volunteers, helpers and farmers, we managed to work together to make the market happen! Farmers ploughed, shovels shifted and salt/grit was sprinkled. A brilliant example of community spirit and determination. Well done to everyone who contributed and visited. We're hoping for some warmer weather next time! For anyone who came, post your comments and pics!

Hi everybody
On Sunday 18th March 2018 (12-4pm), we're celebrating 10 years of the Nether Edge Farmers' Market. Once again, there will be over 80 food and craft stalls selling high quality produce, entertainers performing live and local businesses opening up their doors.
To mark the 10 years, we're also having an Easter Bonnet Parade and Egg Hunt (there will be mini-eggs for those completing the hunt!). Bonnet making will happen in Everard's Yard near the top of Glen Road ...with a chance for the best to win a prize - an Easter Egg. Easter decorating materials and egg hunt clues available from Everard's Yard from 12:30pm.
At 3pm the Bonnet Parade will start from the yard and parade to the PA area accompanied by the Ad Hoc band.
Help us to celebrate 10 years of Nether Edge Farmers' Markets by wearing a brightly coloured hat!
Music programme:
- 12 noon - Salvation Army - 12:45pm - Bella Shimmy (dance) - 1:30pm - Toffee Music - 2.15pm - Son De America (Mexican dance) - 3pm - Adhoc Quartet
This market is raising money for St Luke's Hospice and Fable (for a better life with Epilepsy). We've raised a brilliant £70,000 for local charities since 2008.
Dates of forthcoming markets:
- Sunday 17th June, 16th September, and 9th December 2018.
To book a stall at the June market please email nengfarmersmarket@gmail.com or see www.netheredge.org.uk - application forms will be avilable online at the above website a few days after March's market.
Thank you and see you there!

This year marks 10 years of the Nether Edge Farmers' Market. Can you believe it? What started out as a small community endeavour has now grown to be one of the most well attended events in Nether Edge, leading to multiple benefits for local businesses, communities and charity development. To mark the occasion we start off with a reminder of all the wonderful artwork produced for the markets by Victoria Butterell. More details about what is going on at our next market on Sunday 18th March, 12pm-4pm coming very soon.

Just been over to the Market, so much lovely stuff to eat, drink, wear, use.. Salvation Army playing some great tunes. Its a good atmosphere, nice to support local retailers. We had some lovely Mexican drinks (I had lemon, hubby had Hibiscus) and then we had naan breads wrapped around some super fillings.. a veggie one for me, pork for the hubby. We got some bakery items and some veg. Looking forward to the next one - and Sharrow Vale Market before that.

I do love coming to Nether Edge Farmers Market. It's a great place to find quirky items for your home or garden and delicious things to eat, especially when you happen upon wheat free buns! It's also lovely to chat to people regarding local projects etc. My only concern is that things are a little pricey but that maybe down to the amount each stall holder has to pay...I have no idea. I shall always visit but quite often don't buy very much.

A great place to meet local producers and taste some amazing food the people of Sheffield have to offer. Everyone is super feelings and I can not wait for the next one. Well worth a visit!

User

I enjoy going but the street where the stall are on both sides not the main road is a tight squeeze with one side going up and the other coming down so if you want to talk to friends or look at a stall you stop the flow or people
