Sorry you haven’t heard from us in a while. It’s taking us a little longer than we’d anticipated to get our second night going following the success of the first but we will no doubt be bringing some exciting acts to Oddities very soon.

Oddities' debut night kicks off the bank holiday weekend at Hope Works!
This is the first of a series of nights focusing on an eclectic range of electronic music spanning techno, electro, acid and everything in between. Tickets only £3.
For the first mix in this series Sam Daffern condenses his perspective on a night's worth of music into just 2 and a half hours.
... The mix is forever in motion as Sam transcends through his vast collection of electronic music. He sets the mood with the stunning IDM track 'Symmetry' that Speedy J produced for Warp's Artificial Intelligence II album. A staggered kick is then introduced as the mix enters a more melodic stage fronted by the brilliant work of Aleksi Perälä. This builds into broken beats before Textasy takes us on a dramatic turn towards 4x4 techno with one of his oldschool electro-bass cuts. The bpm then increases as we head towards his portrayal of 'peak time' that consists of the brutal sounds of industrial, electro, acid and machine funk. This descends into the deeper side of techno with tracks by Function and Kirk Degiorgio before we delve right into the after hours with hypnotic electro supplied by 214 and Alpha 606. Finally, the curtains draw to a close with the climatic jungle of 'Worst Ever Contender' by Rezzett.
