Pathways Support Centre

Pathways has now closed its doors. Here is a final note from our Project Director Sue Stokes......
So many kind words are being said about Pathways. It is sad that it is no longer able to offer help and support to basically anyone who could travel into Barnsley to access services, but Pathways leaves behind a great legacy - clients who tell us they are only here today because of the helping hand they received. Pathways also offered training places to hundreds of counsellors,... it nurtured and encouraged students on their journey and gave them the practical skills to underpin their theoretical knowledge. So many are now in counselling and supportive roles across Yorkshire and beyond and so the legacy lives on. Without students giving up their time and energy, we could not have met the demands for services. It was a privilege to know you all. The staff team always went that extra mile, they kept me sane and will always be my Pathways family. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank BMBC - they 'saved' Pathways twice, once in 2004 and again in 2018. Times are hard for charities and Pathways finally reached the end of the line. I wish IDAS continued success and the newly commissioned service for low level mental health, Humankind, success in this new venture. In conclusion, whether you worked at Pathways in a paid or voluntary role, please remember, you made a difference to 1000's of people. Join me and be proud and celebrate the legacy we leave behind.
