Great event coming up in Ridley Park in a couple of weeks!
Friends of Ridley Park 4 January at 20:38 · Happy new year! Join us on Saturday 26 January for the RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch. You can choose to join us at 9.30 or 11am for the hour long walk which starts at the Friends' pavilion. We'll be serving refreshments at 10.30 so whether you've just been on the walk or you're just about to go on the walk, join us for tea and a biscuit. With no leaves on the trees this is a great time see birds as well as hear them. We hope you can make it.

Here's another one of our trees all decorated up in its new home.
We still have a few 5'-6' Nordmann Firs, grown in Northumberland for sale. Just recently cut, they are super fresh and hold their needles fantastically well. We can deliver locally too. Pop along for a look or message us.

It's "wreath city" here Perennial Favourites just now. We've got all sorts of styles and sizes from traditional to something a little bit different.

User

This is one of our pot grown trees in its new home! We still have a few choice cut Christmas Trees available as well as some pot grown Nordmanns. We're open Wednesday to Saturday but will actually be in Tuesday morning until 1pm-ish!

New wreath creation today, not quite finished yet. Look at the difference in "feel" when the oranges are added.

Whilst most of us are thinking about "coorie-ing doon" for the winter, we,here at the nursery, need to crack on dividing and planting up the stock of herbaceous perennials for next year. The first picture shows some Lamprocapnos spectabilis (used to be called Dicentra spectabilis) common name Bleeding Heart getting planted up. The second and third pictures show some Ligularia przewalskii. Look how it has been drastically cut up, but each piece has at least one bud ready to shoot in the spring.

Don't you think they all did a great job at the Christmas Wreath workshop today? The Friends of Ridley Park Pavilion building was a great space and kept us all lovely and warm on such a wet day. Nothing to do with the mulled wine!😉🍷 If you're interested in doing a wreath workshop there are still a couple more you could sign up to. Two at the Thought Foundation in Birtley and one at the Rising Sun Countryside Centrei. See our events page for details.

What a great place ... Adam was so helpful as I’m no expert when it comes to plants. I was so happy with my purchases and they look great in the garden. Much nicer visiting a local company

User

We needed some advice on how to create a contemporary plant scheme for the front of our house. Adam listened carefully and gave us some fantastic advice, mostly impartial, about how to "structure" a scheme. We came away with some amazing plants and ideas, at a fraction of our expected budget.

User

Very friendly and helpful advice and very good quality plants and economical price. Definitely the place to go to stock up the garden.

User

Thanks Adam for improving on my planting plan. The plants are all in and looking chirpy!

User

Thank you for the help today picking plants for my new border! Wish i'd heard about your shop sooner, didn't realise just how many different plants you stock, so many to choose from, and a lot cheaper than the big garden centre chains. Better customer service too, helped me find just the right plants, will definitely be back! :D

User

Really helpful staff and got some lovely pots and the most beautiful Camelia! Thank you :)

User

Perennial Favourites is why we should support independent nurseries. Brilliant tailor-made advice, a fantastic selection of plants, and a business with a social conscience. Thank you so much, Adam and the team!

User

I really like it ! Always something new to see.

Sadly i don't live near...

But every time i can, i visit.

Thank you all !!!

Great place

User

Fabulous place. A hidden gem and lovely people . We got some great ideas and an education. We will be back for more.

User

Called today to see Adam and the dogs and also to buy some plants. We have been going to this nursery for the last 10 years as they have an excellent choice of all plant types and the prices are much cheaper than the garden centres. Adam's knowledge of plants is excellent and whatever you are looking for he will advise alternatives that you wouldn't have even thought of. If you haven't been yet go along. You'll receive a friendly welcome and wonder why it took you this long to go xx

User

Brilliant place great advice.., a must for anyone like me who is finding their green fingers
