just had a fantastic meal here, and the waitress was fantastic. Let me take my son's food back with me as he was too busy playing to eat. Cheaper and better quality than Wentworth, definitely be coming back, the kit kat brownie and scones are the best

What a fantastic place amazing shop packed with local products we could of spent a fortune - oh hang on we did :) complimented by a simply superb 'cafe' its not a café its far too good to call itself that, all staffed by friendly attentive staff. I almost don't want to say how good this place is as the restaurant isn't that big but it deserves to be busy and I will happily wait my turn when we return in the not too distant future.

Went on recommendation, thought expensive , however we’ve now been 3 times , in my opinion you get what you pay for !

Yes it’s slow , but it’s fresh locally produced food , it’s no fast food restaurant !

If it’s worth eating it’s worth waiting, simple as . We will return !

Totally excellent. Maybe a tad pricey but worth every penny. £2.75 for a bottle of FENTEMANS which they sell in their own shop for £1.55. A huge markup for opening a bottle, pouring it out and putting in some ice and lemon.



Our only ‘complaint’ about the food was the the portions are very large. Didn’t bother me (I’m a pig) but my wife couldn’t finish her main course.

Have eaten there before and will definitely do so again.

Just had the pleasure to sample one of your steak pies my Wife bought from the shop recently and can confirm it was probably the finest steak pie in the land.

Truly Outstanding. Will definitely be back �

Best fillet steak I've ever bought - great quality every time. Lovely cafe - yes it's a shame they don't reserve tables for small groups but I can understand the reasons for this. I've always found the staff most helpful and courteous and I'm a real stickler for good customer service. I would recommend with no hesitation.😊

Some will say expensive but I say you get what you pay for and it’s great.

Also a massive teaser to buy little extras on your way out.

I've only given 3 stars on this visit simply because of one staff member tall grey faced young woman I think she supervises � very sullen looking. 3 if us sent our cokes back as they were all warm and flat? The young lady that served us agreed as she took a sip of mine as i asked her to and she agreed, the lady in question Stomped up to our table with 3 new cokes and rudely informed me that there was nothing wrong with the first cokes as she had tased mine when they were sent back? How she new which was mine I have no clue!!?

Then she said it was fizzy when I threw it down the sink!!! We all just looked at one another in bewilderment! Basically calling us all liars her attitude was vile, we saw her talking about us to the other staff and to be honest made us feel very awkward and uncomfortable. I was going to see the manager and Idid tell the other young lady who was waiting on our table that we thought her attitude was horrid she said how sorry she was obviously not her fault as she was lovely, we ordered our food which was lovely as always 5 out of 5 for that,

it's just a shame our experience was marred by one unpleasant staff member� I did not get to see the manager as I was told they were Not there that day.

First visit yesterday. Ordered food & a drink within 5 minutes of sitting down. 30 minutes later had to ask what had happened to our meal & drink. The waitress had forgotten to put it through. Another 10 minutes to wait before sandwich & salad plus 2 cold drinks arrived........no apology. The food was very nice and we will probably give it another try.

Waited 35 minutes for our lunch whilst other people who arrived after us were served. The food here is always good but the service today was not up to standard. We requested to see the owner who was sitting outside but he was "too busy" (probably eating his own lunch). My sister's tea had gone completely cold while we waited for food and it took a discussion between waitress/supervisor/owner to decide if her teapot could be replaced. Not sure is there has been a change of management as this place is usually very good but we are unable to recommend it on today's performance.

Just been to visit rob Royd, food was good but the service and the staff was just rude!!! No smiles waiting 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order, and when we was told we couldn’t split the bill the staff was really rude and then pulled over our partners to tell us to ‘make sure next time you bring cash’ really rudely, after this I won’t be returning until staff improve.

Been many times and returned this morning for breakfast, my son who is almost 2 got some egg stuck in his throat and was unfortunately a tiny bit sick on the floor, myself and friend cleaned it up straight away and took the wipes we'd used to a waitress (which i had placed in a small bag) to ask her Where the bin was, to which she looked totally disgusted and looked at us like we were shit on her shoe and barked at us to " just put it there!" Pointing to the counter!! Absolutely no need for her attitude, unfortunately we won't be returning even though we cannot fault the quality of food served.

Will not be going again expensive and poor quality coffee was cold when my 1 mushroom came with very hard toast & hard butter. I asked for mushrooms on toast LOL

Very disappointed on my first visit to the restaurant, we were second in the queue waiting to be seated however after watching four lots of people leaving and no staff members cleaning the tables to get us or other waiting customers in we were just left standing there. Eventually we were led in and seated with some menus to look at and after quickly deciding what we wanted we were left there with no staff members coming to take our orders, after trying to get the waitresses attention (even at point of them looking directly towards us but still failing to come across) and new guests arriving being sat down and orders taken we decided to give in after 20 minutes of waiting and not one member of staff coming to see to us so we left and took our custom elsewhere. I was unable to try their food or drink so I can not comment on these however due to the lack of service I think I would prefer to drive that little bit further and attend at either Cannon Hall Farm in Barnsley or Blacker Hall Farm in Wakefield.

Me and friends from work came this morning for bunch, really disappointed with mushrooms on toast, she was given 4 slices of toast with one mushroom. Sorry but won’t be returning.
