Arcadia is an exhilarating journey through Britain’s ever-changing relationship with the land. With music from Adrian Utley (Portishead) and Will Gregory (Goldfrapp), this is a delicious feast of rare and unseen material of rural life on screen. https://goo.gl/Py4ZDw

"Barry understood class politics, the irreconcilable conflict between workers and employers. His book The Gamekeeper, which we filmed, captured this exactly. The title character is an ex-steel worker who now protects the land of the aristocracy and chases off his former workmates. A life in the open air for him means social exclusion for his wife and family. Is he changing sides or swapping one form of exploitation for another? Barry loved such contradictions. As I knew him, his commitment to socialism never wavered."

Adapted by Ken Loach for the big screen, our first film, The Gamekeeper, is a beautifully shot look at the relationship between nature, society and the class system.

In a quiet Icelandic suburb, a bitter dispute erupts over a tree. For one side it's a beautiful garden feature; for the other it's getting in the way of a decent summer tan. What starts off as a typical spat between neighbours spirals violently out of control, fuelled by the hilarious pettiness stopping either side from backing down.
If you’re one for weird and wonderful Icelandic black comedies like Rams (or if you've ever had an intense garden-based feud with a neighbour) Under the Tree is not to be missed. Showing from this Friday!

Theatrical producer Max Bialystock has fallen on hard times, so he conspires with his accountant Leo Bloom to select the worst play, the worst playwright, the worst director, and the worst actor to offend audiences everywhere and ensure a guaranteed flop... Went to see Three Billboards this week. The place is great. Cafe/ bar was busy and the food looked just as good as previous visits. Nice to see an Independent doing so well. There's a good selection of beers, and you can take your drinks into the cinema. I see complaints about how busy the place is !!!! Why ???? Doesn't this show how popular the venue is ??? My advice arrive early..... get your tickets and have a drink in the buzzy atmosphere of the bar, before leisurely walking through to see the film..... Cinema itself also good, plenty of leg room and friendly staff.

User

We've been going to the Showroom for about three years - prefer it to the big Cinemas - unfortunately they don't show some of the big films - but have enjoyed the experience, the food is fab love being able to have a drink while watching. The staff are always very helpful and courteous & I love the mount of points we get each time we go - so you can do the T2 deal - bargain!!!

User

Really lovely visit to the Showroom yesterday for what they call a relaxed viewing. It felt like being at home. Lovely staff and so courteous. We really enjoyed it. Not out first visit and definitely not our last. So easy to get to from Doncaster. Well worth a visit.

User

One of Sheffield's absolute cultural GEMS! Especially pleasing to see the place seem busier these days (on personal past experiences anyway - and this despite there being more direct local competition, with the Curzon opening not too far away). My only slight criticism would be that the box office "system" seems to be more than little bit archaic (resulting in queues easily building up..) - but the staff do the best they can with it, so not a big issue. An absolute must for fans of cinema-going.

User

Love this place ... Super staff, always helpful and happy. Terrific films to view and great bar ... Membership card worth its weight in gold !!

User

In my experience the Showroom is probably the best cinema in the country. It is very much worthwhile becoming a member if you go to the pictures often.

Plenty of leg room and the best films from all over the world.

User

I went to the Showroom for the first time on Boxing Day to see an old classic film. I was so impressed with the place, I'm back again on Saturday and Monday. I love the ambience, the staff are great, the venue itself is nicely decorated and well maintained. They show some great old and new (independent) movies and I will definitely be going regularly for these. If I am tempted to see any recent releases I would definitely want to see them here too, just for the atmosphere. Head and shoulders above the impersonal multiscreen cinema complexes.

User

I love The Showroom. It is such a hub for friends to meet; for folk to drop in; to watch good films. All this in a friendly, comfortable environment. Seriously good food [yummy cakes]; good coffee and there seems to be a range of beers and alcohol for those of a certain persuasion.

User

Had a great time. The seats was good. Only downside would be the woman on the popcorn stand was grumpy. But that's being picky

User

Great experience. Staff friendly and helpful.

Went to see 3 Billboards with my wife and baby at the 11.30 am Kino Bambino

User

Excellent venue, staff were lovely, visitor to the city and would always choose an independent cinema in preference to a large chain, we were the only two in the auditorium... shame it’s not more fully supported! Or perhaps it was because we were not watching Bladerunner... 🤔😀

User

Excellent choice of films - really great art house complex - helpful staff - near to major car park with discounts

User

Turned up at 11am (as per opening hours on website and on the door), went in for a hearty feed before our midday movie to be told they weren't open 'til 11:30. As a regular punter since it opened this sort of sloppiness doesn't surprise me any more but the cinema is still one of the best in the country.

User

They sell nice cider in Showroom Cinema. I was early arriving at Sheffield Train 🚂 Station on Tuesday so I popped in to Showroom cinema as all the pubs were shut at the time. Had a couple of pints of Thatcher's cider on tap while I was there! Pints tasted nice and the building looked clean. Within walking distance of the train 🚂 station. I popped in there because all the pubs were shut at the time and just to pass the time in general until my train back to the north east came.

User

Lovely little cinema, 1st time there due to film not being on st main venues. Very welcoming, not too pricey and nice bar area. Will definitely go again.

User

Just got back from seeing a fistful of dollars, the 4k remaster with full colour correction and remastered music. I like the showroom but the fire exit signs in the cinema are extremely annoying. They are so bright that it colorized the screen a pale green, particularly in darker scenes. What is the point in seeing a 4k remaster with colour correction by the original colour correctionist if you can't provide an auditorium fit for the purpose of doing so? I do not see myself returning in the future if you can't at least make the auditorium dark enough so that it allows the film to be shown in the way it is meant to be seen. A great shame considering the range and quality of films at Showroom, and a disservice to the people who worked very hard to restore this film.

User

It was good, clean and a relatively pleasant experience. Bit of a queue at the bar so didn't get a drink before the film, I also thought the volume and bass levels needed turning up a bit. Otherwise fine :)

User

Only been to the venue twice. First time long queues for food and popcorn was stale. Second time long queues again, one girl on counter rushing around. Two guys stood around chatting watching the huge queue. Not impressed.

User

I've always liked the bar/cafe area, but I had my first visit to the cinema (I've been wanting to for a while) and all I can say is what a let down.

Service was friendly but strangely unhelpful and no initiative to aid people.

The cinema itself is arty and I liked that but the quality was below par I'm afraid .... I can't see a return visit I'm sorry to say
