User

We went for a meal here last night, the food was very nice and staff were lovely!! Would recommend!

User

We love it here. The management and staff are all welcoming and friendly. They have a great range of craft beer and gin. Tv sport in the bar area. The food is good, sure it’s not going to be gastro-gourmet but it’s always decent particularly the kids meals.

We love it and go regularly so it can’t be that bad !

Came the other day with my partner, and we was shocked at how nice it all is after the refurb. Food is a lot better a little bit of a price increase but so much nicer! Everything came out quickly even though it was busy. Staff attentive as always and it's nice that the food is back on track. Love the little touch of offering blankets for when you go outside too.

User

Been twice this week. Once it was quiet the food was lovely. Second it was really busy so thought the food would suffer but no they didn't disappoint. Good food good value. The Yorkshire pudding wraps are well worth the trip......

User

Well I must say the last time I came which was end of July this year I didn't think I'd ever come again but just been for tea and the place looks so much better for the refurb. All the food was lovely and hot and the service was good. We would have liked to see some other pasta dishes on the menu and more choice of desserts would have been nice, we might have been tempted to have one. X

User

Main meals we had were ok, but the child's meal could have been better, we ordered sausage mash and peas, we expected gravy to be on the mash, but had to ask for it when it arrived at our table, what it said on menu 2 sausages with the meal, it was 1large rubbery hot dog sausage, seems they had run out of sausages, but why not say this when ordered at the bar

User

Bit pricey, took my fave item of the m u which I wasn’t happy about but lovely staff and really nice refurb

Visited yesterday tea time for my dad and friends birthday had to wait abit to order as though it wasn't too busy there was a few ppl at bar and only 1 person serving. Some of the food was fine but my dads 8oz steak was tough and he was struggling to chew it my niece we asked for no veg on chicken dinner yet it came with my friend asked for no tomato on his mixed grill yet it was on his plate he had a dessert eaten mess Sunday and fruit was horrible and sour had 3 spoons then left it cos it was that bad and y is a chicken dinner served with roasties it used to be mash. Really gone down hill would not recommend feel like I've wasted my money and ruined my dad and friends birthday also had staff clearing table when my friend was still eating not good at all very disappointed

User

Gutted couldn't wait to go and try the Yorkshire Pudding Wrap. Both me and my husband had the steak one. He ordered very well done....it was very very pink. Couldn't put a knife through it. Couldn't even cut the steak. Mine was medium yet so full of fat and tough I didn't manage a mouthful. We asked the waitress to take it back. We just got told they were having problems with the steak and they wouldn't of eaten it????? Offered a refund but stood at the bar for 20mins before acknowledged. Had the cheek to charge us for our 2 x J20's. Awful meal, awful management but waitress fantastic.

User

Enjoyed dinner but but more can be said for pudding roly poly crumble it should be taken of menu it was dry, stodgy and lacked flavour and the amount of custard given wasn't enough to even cover, well disappointed.

User

Attended tonight because it was advertised as a doctor who geek quiz with a friend also stoped for food. Food was good but the night was tottally miss sold online the quiz master was actually quite rude to me and my friend when we asked why it was not as advertised. Drinks were expensive food was adveage price wouldn't recommend a quiz night.

User

we had sirloin steak. tasted like frying steak. first time we been since re opened. Had some good meals b4 used to go regular.

User

Wasn't impressed went for Sunday lunch, one pice of beef no mash potatoes just roast, and clearly frozen veg, two size children's meals one stated as for 8+ and when it arrived it was no bigger than the smaller one, not enough staff had to wait ages to be served even though it wasn't that busy, won't be going again in a hurry

Disgusting.

Visited today for a Father's Day family meal. 6 adults 2 children.

We all decided to have the roast dinner and two children's meals of burger and chicken. Some of us had large roast dinners. When they came out they were small plates of roast dinner and then a extra plate with more veg, Yorkshire pud, potatoes and gravy on. Which we all found a little strange as to why the extra was served on a separate plate. Would have just been better to be all put together on a large plate so we could have space to eat everything.

The food was tasteless, greasy and simply disgusting. It was embarrassingly bad.

The roast potatoes were covered in grease, the meat was like plastic and the veg was just tasteless. It was just like a microwave meal.

The whole meal was horrible. My sons burger was like cardboard, he couldn't eat it.

I told the manager who was friendly and helpful and did get me another meal of steak. Which was ok. But defiantly nothing special. It was full of gristle and not good quality. He then also refunded our meals.

There also was a young lad collecting empty glasses, who decided to collect one we hadn't even finished with and every time he went past me would knock into my shoulder.

It was just a real shame as Father's Day is a special day and we all felt let down, will defiantly not be returning. We use to come to smithy pond regularly and the meals were lovely. Such a shame.
