CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) – UPDATE 21 March 2020
It will feel strange tomorrow not to gather for worship with the church community and friends at St Helen’s. Although we will not be gathering for public worship, I will still be praying for all of you tomorrow morning and, of course, for the wider community and everyone affected by the coronavirus. Please join me in praying wherever you are.

It will also be available on The Archbishop of Canterbury’s Facebook page from 9am. A printable order of service is available at www.cofe.io/MotheringSunday

CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) Updated information in relation to weddings, funerals and help for those self isolating.
In line with government and Church of England guidance, we have suspended all public worship and events until further notice. Specific guidance on weddings and funerals is now available. If you have a wedding booked, or are enquiring about a funeral, please contact the Vicar, Revd Canon Elaine Bielby – details below.
During this time, the clergy and people of St Helen’s will continue to pray for all who are affected by the virus, those caring for them and all who are searching for a cure. Over the next few days we will be making more resources available both through our website and Facebook pages and within the church. Meanwhile if you would like to join us in praying, suggested prayers can be found at https://www.churchofengland.org/…/coron avirus-liturgy-and-p… . Easter Services at St Helen’s

User

Today was the last service for our curate Graeme Holdsworth and his wife Carol Holdsworth who is also a reader for the church. Graeme came to St Helen’s three years ago and now he has completed his training he is moving on to be the Vicar of his own parish Marsden and Slaithwaite. Graeme and Carol will be missed greatly and the congregation collected money to present Graeme with a mountain bike to tackle his new terrain. The choir sung them out with a fantastic version of Glory Glory Hallelujah tailored to Graeme and Carol’s time in Welton. A beautiful lunch was held after the service with thanks to all members of the church for bringing and sharing the food. We wish them the best of luck!
