Went last night (14.6.18) for our daughters birthday.Seated and served quickly by pleasant staff.The menu is nice and varied,and the food was excellent(I can recommend the scotch egg starter). It has a nice lay out and quirky decor mixed with a relaxed atmosphere,and a live act playing some great tunes on their guitars. All the family enjoyed the food , and we will definitely visit again.

The food, the atmosphere and the staff were all first class. A party of six celebrating my daughters 40th birthday had a great time, and we would certainly recommend the Botanist to friends.



In fact I have already done so today.

Starters fine waited for Maine’s to come out which was quite a while when they arrived was cold sent them back arrived again after a fair wait again only to arrive again cold manger came felt at meals and agreed they where cold manger was very apologetic we offered to pay for what we had but was given it for free manager and staff upset at what we had been served and made it as good as they could would not recommend

My friends and I are from Nottingham, obviously looked a bit lost, this guy offered to help us, turned out he worked at the botanist and actually walked us there, even opened his expensive jar of gherkins and gave me one, he was mint and so was the gherkin, cheers

Many different cocktails available for a wide variety of tastes. There is also a decent selection of beers. Plenty of outside seating to enjoy the weather and the music. Quick service considering the amount of cocktails they mix and the staff are very capable and attentive.

Love it here! Been a few times and had great meals, fab service and even better cocktails! There have been some slight issues when I’ve been but the staff have always corrected it without being asked and ensured that we’ve felt satisfied with their service afterwards! Keep it up! �

Had a wonderful meal and whole experience there tonight - from the lovely chatty Barman down stairs to the staff who served us upstairs - everyone couldn’t do enough for us - special mention to Matt - what a great manager and great customer satisfaction!! Highly recommend it!

First visit....what a quirky restaurant, great ambience and theme....the food we ordered was first class, try their hanging kebabs they were gorgeous. First class service from the staff very attentive and polite, I would highly recommend.

First time I went on Friday night for my friend’s Hen Do. There were 12 of us & the food all looked lovely & mine was delicious. I had the chicken salad & tiny tot potatoes. I didn’t hear any complaints, which is a first when I’ve been out for a meal in a large party! Great friendly service too. Will definitely be making a return visit!

Banging cocktails, scrumptious food, and tip-top service from the loveliest bar staff in Sheffield. Up there amongst the best Scotch Eggs of my life - what an accolade!

Always delicious food every time we have visited. If we have ever had a problem the staff have always been brilliant and sorted it or given us a discount for errors made etc. Our favourite place to come as the decor is stunning and the atmosphere is lovely when theres live music. Yes it can occassionally be very busy but the staff have always been apologetic for any delays and we never have problems with the standards of food

Lovely quirky atmosphere, decor and presentation of food and nice live music. The only thing I would say last time I came with my friend the food was cold and I thought I'd try again today, the food was cold again. I think this needs addressing, because Iv noticed a few other reviews on here mentioning that their food was cold too. It's the only thing that lets the place down. And I think the staff could be more welcoming.

Lovely place but let down by the service. To be fair it was a busy night but having booked for 8pm we weren't seated until 8.30. Main courses didn't come out until 9.45. Lack of communication on the fact they had run out of vegetables for the roast dinners and the worse yorkshire puddings I've ever had. Lovely selection on drinks and the camembert starter was amazing.

I went the other week for a friend’s birthday celebration meal and was disappointed with the service. It took the staff about half an hour to get our bill even though I could see other staff stood talking to each other about, clearly, non work related topics. The time it took to clear our plates away was poor and then they took even more time to offer us the dessert menu. The main meals were nice but nothing extraordinary. However the dessert was incredible and I would probably go back just for the desserts. Overall the food was good but the service wasn’t.

Fantastic decor and a really great service in the upstairs restaurant but totally let down by the food. Had the cod and prawn hanging kebab and it was tasteless, Poorly seasoned and bland. Left half my meal it was that bad.

Went downstairs to the bar after our meal for a drink and the bar was 4 people deep queuing and only 3 bar staff on. Totally understaffed for a busy city centre bar. After being ignored 3 times by the bar lady I Walked out in the end and got a drink straight away in Cubanas.

Pretty poor service considering we had booked a table well in advance. Staff were rude. Took a long time to be served when we arrived. Once they realised we weren’t having food and only drinks they refused us table service and brought our bill over. £26 for a “watering can” I’d expect better service. Atmosphere was great, and loved the decor. Staff not so much.

It took ages to be seated even though we booked, the food took absolutely ages, food was nice to be fair but even trying to pay took ages, was just glad to leave in the end.
